Got to pick out this album on vinyl as my birthday present.
This is album is really good, I can see why people say it’s one of the greatest albums ever, the production is smooth the rapping, all of the things are great and in the end it gets more dreamy imo which is really nice, also the lyrics are insane as well considering Nas wrote some of these songs when he was 16, insane.
I found this through the animation “street-catz” by GamBoyCat
And this song is very good, it fits the aesthetic of the animation really well
Production wise this album is absolutely beautiful, though when i listening to it, i just didn’t really feel anything, even so there are quite a few good moments, like on “how to completely disappear” half way into the song it’s just beautiful, my favourite songs by far are How To Completely Disappear, Optimistic and Idioteque
This album is really weird mix for me, i love how noisy it is, it just works perfectly here and this production is great as well, it’s like a mix of death grips plus tyler’s new stuff, for the most part i enjoyed the album BUT the lyrics man (there’s a reason “blow your load” is 20) as aerowide said “genuinely a beautiful transition album between his edgy and more mature era” couldn’t agree more
The first four songs are genuinely one of the most watered down and bland rock i’ve ever heard in my entire life it’s just so boring, BUT after the 4th song is becomes better and they actually experiment with their sound a bit which makes this listenable, favourite song by a long shot: Tea Leaves
Thundercat is the GOAT, the bass and synth work on this album is FUCKING IMMACULATE especially on the song with lil yachty and flying lotus, vocals and piano are amazing as well, definitely top 10 of 2026 as of now
I’m mixed about this, the rapping is good, the beats are sometimes amazing like on Nowhere2go and azucar but sometimes they are just mid and half of the songs are insanely short
My english teacher suggested me to listen to this album. This album is BEAUTIFULLY produced and recorded, really reminds me of Willyrodriguez (ofc this was made first) ill be listening to their other projects later! I like this, Thanks Miss English Teacher
As of now only had listened to one of their albums (money store) this is my favourite out of these two, i LOVE how they incorporate rock details into the music and this is the perfect example some parts of the album even feel jazzy which i like a LOT
Holy FUCK THIS album IS SO good, i didnt think anyone would have topped U by underscores, but alas ANYWAYS MY FAVOURITE SONG IS DANCE…. IT’S AN ABSOLUTE BANGER
Not feeling this one “EAST” sounds like it sampled an old soviet cartoon
El-P’s production is fucking insane on this, the rapping is INSANE as well, definitely my favourite album from them and one of my favourite experimental albums
