80 --> 95
I relistened to this album recently and I forgot how raw it all sounds. I feel like this was peggy at this most experimental. This makes my ears bleed but in a very good way. The only critique I have with this is that DJ Snitch Bitch Interlude is a unnecessary song.
This is peggys 3rd best album tied with Amhac.
90 --> 75
My mind was clouded by recency bias and my overall bias for PEGGY. But with this rollout he has ruined how I look at him as a person but I still love him as an artist. I believe this is his worst album since Black Ben Carson.
This album is incredible and it is the most devastating album I have listened to. This is one of those records where you have to be try to sit down and listen and try to understand every minuscule detail. Truly one of the most profound works in the past 2 decades.
I don’t have any words (proceeds to write a whole ass review)
Let me start that these are the type of albums that are setting new benchmarks for other artists. These albums topics are heavy and out of context some lyrics might be a bit goofy like the “furry porn” lyric but it still goes into that porn is destroying our youthful minds. This album made me cry twice (no album has done that) one notable time was in the song “revisited” the “oh my god” ... read more
Very great debut album from femtanyl. I loved how they tried something new with the experimentation on the first half, especially the first 3 songs. I didn't really enjoy how upbeat and jolly "MY HEAD HURTS" sounded.
Really enjoyed this album but I do have some small issues on it. Let me start with the good things. The production is incredible, truly it sounds so great. The flows that J.Cole puts up are INSANE. I will need to do a deep dive on the lyrics but from what I heard already it is immaculate. Now the bad. I think going in this I was expecting too much I mean he has been teasing it since 2018. The songs drag on a bit which sometimes made me keep looking at the run time and wait for it to end. The ... read more
I can tell that this is music and it exists.
It is just a bunch of unmemorable songs that don't leave a lasting impression. Really the singles are the highlights on the album except for like 2 songs. Every other track just feels unfinished. Compared to every song on the tracklist "Sojourn" does not fit with it's abrasive production. The features on this album are pretty decent.
My first Xiu Xiu project and this did not disappoint. For a while now I have been trying to ease into Xiu Xiu's abrasive style. I don't think this was the perfect project to do so but still is great even though it is just a bunch a covers.
Favorite Track: Cherry Bomb
First 2026 album review for me. First half is genuinely crazy, then it lowkey fell off a bit on the 2nd half but still very good and definitely worth the wait. I really loved the experimentation on this.
This album is just as much relevant as it when released, maybe even more. I didn’t understand it at first why people liked the first track, it doesn’t have crazy climaxes as “sleep” but it truly is scary how much the man nailed our world. So that is one of the reasons why I think this is another perfect GY!BE project. Then the 2nd track hit and truly it is so spectacular felt like it was speaking to me. I Love Godspeed You! Black Emperor And I Forever Will.
Once I heard the last track of this my first reaction was like "isn't this GY!BE" and once I found out it became one of my favorite song by Backxwash.
I am very shocked in how lyrically deep this is and also it sounding super good on the ears. Very impressive work here.
Deadass might be the worst album that I listened to this year. Not even kendrick could save this. This guy (who has abuse allegations) is getting a skin in fortnite btw.
I feel like "Man Made of Meat" overshadows every other track cause it is so damn good. The album is pretty fun and sounds super raw.
Im gonna just copy my individual reviews for the 2 albums so here
**** on the moon:
Really creative with the Bjork samples. Every track transitions perfect into each other. Truly this is one of their best and underrated albums that the band has released.
Score: 90
Jenny Death:
This is Death Grips truly at their best. EVERYTHING through the production, lyrics, vocals, beats everything is near perfect. With allat glazing I don't like "Death Grips 2.0" which is so unfortunate ... read more
