There's a kick to this that scratches my brain in the right way. With the context of also having listened to her debut, this album is much less snappy - but rather potent in an entirely different sense. That angst and indie rock feel with the flair of country soundfont works perfectly for the mood she's trying to sell. The lyrics are poignant, and it all coalesces so pristinely that I can't help but adore what Barnett delivered!
She showed up with this absolutely lovely combination of Dance and R&B that is absolutely bait for me. DEAD is such an incredible opener that gets almost trance-y as it progresses, which only leads to more bliss as the project reaches a second peak with THE NATURE OF POWER! I am honestly stunned, and Brittney's third studio album ended up being even more enjoyable than I expected going in :)
This is almost sort of indescribable. The mixture of sounds and themes from the struggles of Venezuelan life and the yearning for the internet that is no longer there fills out the maximalist atmosphere with an overall tone of sadness that... really does just linger in the air. It fascinates me, and in particular a track like MALUCA is even more stand-out with the pastiche of 2000s YouTube in its video. This is... intense, and very staunch in what it represents, and is all the better for it.
All things considered this is a pretty pleasant listen! It made for a great company through my early morning at the very least. While I do enjoy the sound, I do also acknowledge it has some of those clichés that sort of turn me off country more broadly, but evidently I still got something out of the more twangy, vintage sound this project features. Not bad at all!
It's nice! More specifically, I would've preferred more songs to experiment with the sound like the two singles did, but I certainly can't complain about an enjoyable album from front to back.
As expected Olivia Dean can deliver, but in comparison to the more mellow bliss of The Art of Loving, Messy comes off quite upbeat and bubbly about the love it speaks on! There's different appeals to both, but this one still scratches a particular itch my mind that Ms. Dean often pulls off so well... it's such a comfortable listen and I of course love the soul influences... grand stuff <3
She's definitely taken an interesting and darker shift in tone as compared to the more light-hearted energy of going... going... gone! Honestly? This is cool as hell! I love the sound here and I enjoy how anguished her vocals can sound at times... there's so much personality to these tracks and their sheer power at times leaves me a bit speechless... I'm eager to hear how she follows up after this now!
A cool underground feel is brought on with this one! The immediate one-two punch of E85 and Body is a strong start to the album, and the vibes keep me roped in throughout the rest of it, with songs along the way in Tiramisu, Rosary and Pleasure's Mine all being some nice highlights :D Super chill project, one I think is best enjoyed by simply taking it as it is...
Such a lush and comfortable project... one of my favourites to throw on when I just want to feel a bit brighter! Olivia Dean is perhaps my most cherished 2025 breakout, and this album certainly never disappoints... the singles were lovely, and the album tracks equally so. This is just so nice and smooth <3
From front to back this album never lets up with punchy instrumentation, unique topics and a huge burst of personality from PinkPantheress... Illegal was one of my favourite tracks of 2025, with that intro perhaps being my favourite musical moment of the year! It maintains such a kick throughout, ending with an equally strong bang in the back-to-back punches of Stateside and Romeo.
This plays on 00s nostalgia with a modern twist, and she manages to incorporate it so wonderfully into both the ... read more
The single hooked me so I had to listen! This is some damn good pop punk - ESPECIALLY when they get faster and heavier with it! The true standouts for me are All My Friends Are So Depressed and I Used To Go To This Bar, I find myself particularly enjoying how these songs really let the guitars thrive for a moment... that's some premium stuff!! Really wish some of these tracks were longer though. Such good sounds going on until they end just too soon </3
What a pleasant little chamber pop project... I quite enjoyed the single Endless, Dreamless so I was more inclined to check this out. The mellow atmosphere is nice and it builds a quaint little world, but it's hard for me to truly be absorbed into that with the vocals being so muddied and everything being a bit washed out. In general I'm not the biggest fan of the production choices here, but I do overall find the sound quite comfy and the potential as a whole is promising for future ... read more
This is a fascinating mix of dance, psych, and even at points indie rock elements! The lyrical themes are interesting in their introspection and the sound is honestly just... really good? I hadn't listened to Tame Impala before this project so this is an incredibly strong debut to my ears! His genre fusion and style is just so unlike anything else I've heard get big, and I'm all for more!
What an expansive soundscape!! I've heard many KGLW albums by now and this one really feels like a grand culmination of their previous dips into various styles. Quite orchestral at times, with tinges of folk, blues, and proggy sounds all sprinkled within! It's a very neat project to listen through as a whole with some quite fun lyricism to boot :3
Locket starts off a bit disjointed for me, with "Yes Baby" being the highlight of the first half. However, the entire tracklist from "You're Still Everything" on to the end genuinely took me back a bit in how much I was bopping along in comparison! "Complexity" is the personal highest of the highs for me of those. I enjoy the fun dance vibe of this album overall, and it really did turn around for me in spite of some minor gripes with the unbalancing of the ... read more
What an experience throughout this is. I was very excited in the lead-up to this release, greatly enjoying both PUNK ROCKY and HELICOPTER. Safe to say, Rocky did not disappoint!! There are so many genre fusions at play here that it remains fresh throughout, from more standard trap beats, to cloud rap, to punk rock, and even to jazz! A bunch of fun recurring motifs like the little "STFU!" line are also just another nice flair on top of it all. This project was a great way to start off ... read more
Having heard Seventeen Going Under prior, I really enjoy how his sound has evolved! Each song here seems to have a base sound that gets built on, and I appreciate all the little details each track brings. The folk influence is wonderful, his voice is as good as ever, and I appreciate the touches of Oasis flair as well. I do admit I find myself zoning out a little bit through some of the tracks, but it's a very nice time all throughout!
Having only really heard her contributions to Paramore before, I came out of this album very impressed with the versatility her solo work brings. From various moments of vocal flair to pop sounds ranging from indie, to alt, to even dream, it's all a very nice show of what Hayley Williams is capable of! I had a really fun time seeing what each track would bring next, and I like how much fun she's clearly having with it :D
Checking this album out was really cool... I love how I can tie the influence of her style back on other artists I like that came after her! Promise is a vibe through and through and the motions it takes you through are ever-pleasant and soothing... Sade really worked like nobody else from her time, and I enjoy this sound a lot!
Checking out this band for a college class! I started with this record as it seemed to mark the start of a shift for the band, and while I do think the sound has some merit and I like the classic style folk lyrics, it does get a bit repetitive and doesn't ultimately do as much as I'd like. I'm curious to eventually see how their later releases expand on this, because there definitely is potential!
