Kanye West's 10th studio album named after his mother, Donda, after numerous delays and listening parties has finally arrived. From an artist standpoint, this album stands in stark contrast to its predecessor, "Jesus is King", delivering a less cohesive, yet more sonically pleasing experience. Donda's production style is what I can only describe as a mix of gospel, hip-hop, and some soul elements as well.
"Pray For Haiti" is admittedly my first Mach-Hommy project. Sure, I've heard his name before but I never have delved into his discography. I saw the amount of praise Mach had received both on Twitter and YouTube so I decided to give him a listen.
Mach-Hommy's lyricism is crazy underrated and spits some hard bars such as "your raps braggadocious put this 38 in your mouth go head and spit your magnum opus". Westside Gunn, who I have mixed feeling about, is featured on this ... read more
Pop artist blackbear is back with a new EP. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of this EP. It feels like a generic collection of heartbreak songs, which is fairly common for blackbear. It feels largely uninteresting and blackbear doesn't improve on anything he has done before, once again showing next to zero growth from his last effort. His subject matter and production here are just as banal, and in some cases, even worse than "Everything Means Nothing", which is impressive.

Boldy James and The Alchemist join forces for the fourth time (three albums and one ep) on "Bo Jackson". Compared to their previous joint effort, "The Price of Tea in China" (referring to hereafter as TPOTIC, this album is a considerable step up. Boldy's performance as a whole has improved, specifically his flow, and the Alchemist's producing never disappoints.
This feels like a Griselda album, keeping with the gritty, boom bap feeling of Griselda's catalogue. When it ... read more
Coming off the critical success of his previous project, "King's Disease", Nas is back with "King's Disease II". I was a fan of the first King's Disease, it was among some of my favorite albums from last year, but this sequel is a marked improvement over the original. Nas slides on Hit-Boy's production and is firing on all cylinders. Nearly every feature on here is solid, with a special shout to Lauryn Hill, who is back rapping on the track "Nobody". Charlie Wilson ... read more
I walked away from Slime Language 2 with nothing really. I wasn’t impressed nor was I disappointed, I listened to the album and that was it. There were good moments on the album, such as the features from Drake, Kid Cudi, and Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug was always a treasure. I think that my problems with the record is that it just doesn’t stand out, which may not even be the goal of the project, but it just feels like a generic trap album with some noteworthy features. The Big Sean ... read more
Billie Eilish's sophomore album "Happier Than Ever", despite a drawn out album rollout and several underwhelming singles, is finally here. The title "Happier Than Ever" is not indicative of the album's tone, rather Billie continues her darker tones seen in her previous LP. Happier Than Ever continues to keep Eilish's quality consistent between her two full length LPs. My only complaints about this LP is the lack of substance on a few tracks, such as "Billie Bossa ... read more
Definitely an underwhelming project from Logic, it feels like a bunch of tracks left over from different recording sessions an thrown together into a project and named BT3. This feels inconsistent, the leading singles were all underwhelming to bad, but there were a few diamonds in the rough-type songs in here such as "See You Space Cowboy" and "Inside". Logic made this for the fans, which is a camp I'm a part of, and I am grateful for more Logic, but I left this experience ... read more
I'm going to show my bias here, but I love Isaiah Rashad. If you're a fan of Isaiah Rashad, odds are that you will like this album. Lyrically, Say strays away the subject matter of his previous projects and focuses more on himself and I'm here for it. Overall I really enjoyed most of what was here. The features were extremely solid, although I wish we had more TDE representation other than Jay Rock and SZA, but I'm still happy to hear from both of them.
