Fantastic retro sounding indie pop. 80s style indie pop has always been a guilty pleasure for me and this is definitely one of my personal favorite under-the-radar albums this year.
Favorite Songs: "Lover Surreal", "Hold On (I Was Wrong)", "Paris to the Moon", "Chamber of Reflection"
Least Favorite Song: "Pop Therapy"
Animal Collective (or at least, 3/4 of Animal Collective) arrive with one of their most experimental releases yet. It mostly pays off, as listening to the album is a unique and psychedelic experience. However, it does get a little bit drawn out at points and there isn't as much fun or emotion as previous AnCo releases, such as Feels, MPP, or Strawberry Jam (most likely due to the absence of Panda Bear). You know how I said that Jack White's Boarding House Reach seamlessly blends multiple genres into one fantastic, avant-garde piece of music? Well, Justin Timberlake tried to do the same thing. Didn't work so well.

Easily Jack White's best solo album. Weird as hell, but oddly enjoyable, Jack White manages to create an album that defies any sort of genre classification and is almost transcendent of the artist himself. This doesn't sound like the Jack White we know, but it doesn't have to. It's an extremely clever, unique, and fun album that Jack White makes work, despite all signs pointing to the notion that it shouldn't.
