Beautiful album and a great intro to Jazz for those wanting to explore the genre.
This is interesting music and a taste that I think I could acquire. There is clearly depth and complexity here that would reward a careful listener. For the time being it hasn't grabbed me enough to make me want to return to it as a whole.
I have enjoyed listening to this album! It is dark, moody, dancy and concise. I am looking forward to hearing more from Heartworms in the futre.
Favourite tracks: Just to Ask a Dance, Jacked, Smuggler's Adventure
Every time I listen to this I feel as though it is over too soon. You can just get a sense of the band members looking at one another, signalling, coming in and out of consciousness as they create this together. I loved this release and it is certainly one of my favourites so far this year!
On my first listen I was quite captivated by this album. There is a beatiful blend of western and arabic sounds to get lost in, with beautiful trumpet playing. It's a wonderful album to get lost in. It suffers a little from being bloated and long, but I'll definitely being going back for another listen.
Best: She Stands on the Shore and Though My Eyes Go To Sleep, My Heart Does Not Forget You
Pink Floyd Reviews #1
A good album to listen to on your own. Not an easy listen to put on with family and friends. They delve into space rock (Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive), and Psychedelia (Lucifer Sam, Matilda Mother, The Gnome). There is a whole lot of experimenting going on, lots of jamming, weird lyrics, fun harmonies, odd sounds, strong guitar riffs, and not many "songs".

In danger of turning into easy listening music to the length of the album, but the sound, the vibes are so good!
Reviewing my top albums from 2024 #2
I haven’t gotten to know the earlier albums from the St. Vincent project yet, but this is a remarkable album that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to in 2024. Annie Clark has written and produced a concise, chaotic, consistent soundscape that takes you on a journey to what it sounds like to be inside her head. “Here at the back of my head /Watching my life happening” from So Many Planets feels like a concise description of what it’s ... read more
Elbow’s tenth studio album delivers sophistication, experimentation, a variety of musical influences, and Garvey’s iconic song-writing. Covering topics such as letting go of old friendships (Balu), Romeo and Juliet-esque double suicide (Lover’s Leap), the uncertainty that comes from living in the 21st Century (Her to the Earth), and advice to his son (From the River), they’re still full of inspiration 30 years in to their career as a rock band. This is the liveliest ... read more
Beautiful instrumentation, excellent vocals, and a great variety of energy and emotion throughout the album. Absolutely love the wind chime sounds that transition the songs and tie everything together.
Best tracks: Earth Sign, Samson, Red Flags
Home: You get a feel for the experiment of nature of this album very early on with the way that Willow comes in with backing vocals and interesting rhythms on the drums. When her lead vocals come in, they're wonderful, they're really good! You get this sense of jazz fusion that's going on when the piano comes in that middle section. It's a really interesting starting track. 80
