Someone's getting thrown back into Rotationland!!!! Genuinely no skips and the second half of the album made me allergic to sitting still 😭😭. Ion care who says what, it's a classic in my book🙏
Not a entirely bad project by ANY means. I love her vocals and how soothing they can be. BUT with the music/instrumentation being so basic and I detailed, it leaves us with only her voice and lyrics to derive anything from the album. Thats when we see that she doesn't say enough for us to fully conceptualize any theme and is only enough to get the basic premise of the tracks which when any context is stripped away (as with this album) it's just conventional heartbreak rnb. That is to ... read more
Don't have a lover I wanna get high with, but her performance here is good enough that I can hallucinate one (positive trait✌️) All of that is to say A lot of everything on this project sounds great
Definitely packing some hits here... Loading, Ruby, Day in a Life and 6 for 6. A lot of these force some amount of head motion (bopping😂) so I can't write this off completely. What was supposed to be a show of potential resulted in the start of a linear graph with a negative gradient in his discography (that was creative, I might use it again)
Sounded way better to me in high school... That sums it up
Some undeniable hits sure, but not much else... He could not replicate the formula of his first mixtape. Or maybe he tried to and that's the issue
Sprinter was a breath of fresh air in terms of production from the 2 artists, challenging them to innovate in flows, to some extent and pretty much not at all in terms of bars. Dave's verse on 25th birthday is the best on here but other wise, some head bopping hits and yeah etc I guess
Lazarus and Systems should just evict themselves cause they're genuinely holding the album back other wise some pretty tuff tracks
The songs do bundle up together nicely to portray the core narrative of the album, but then the songs individually and qualitatively can be quite vast. For example I personally am not particularly fond of the vocals on the She's mine parts and a lot of his production is somewhat unremarkable, I remember feeling this specifically on Ville Mentality, but lyrically it's still holds up to some of his highest points in his career which is nice. The title track and Change are classics, must ... read more
Maybe I haven't listened to it enough since it did just drop but the amount of high ratings it's currently getting feels a bit incessant. It's definitely solid with some head movers and it's a fun mix of flows and good production but other than that I can't say much yet, it doesn't feel like it will stick to me yet🤷♂️ it might take a few re-listens but it definitely is an above good mixtape, but there's still better in E. D. T. S (note all of this ... read more
Great project, some well put together tracks. All songs are great quality except for one I'm not really a fan of (Life boats). Blue lights is a classic in my books (my page reloaded and deleted my initial review so I'm not retyping allat✌️🥀)
