I think it's time we blow this scene.. Great show and a very different, cool approach to jazz!
Crazy how David Bowie stands under Kanye West.. Of course a max score for Ziggy Stardust!!!
The fall-off is an ode to his whole career addressing past and current affairs. Soo a lot of interesting concepts existing in this classic J.Cole bubble and a fun first listen and will come ... read more
Bob Marley will never be out of the rotation.
This goes from Jazz, to reggae/dub, to rap and samba. The first song even gave hints of Fela Kuti and that's why this LP had a very unique, but diverse ring to it. I have to do some research to understand what the main focus is when it comes to his lyrics, but musically this is very well and cool executed!
This is a lot to take in at 9 in the morning and I will say that maybe I expected a little more after the 8 year wait, but I really think this LP will only improve over time. The features were ok, nothing too crazy and I expected more Cloud/psychedelia type of songs, but there are some cool, experimental songs like ROBBERY or PUNK ROCKY. Overall solid, but not at the same level as his older works imo. So this is my first impression and I will definitely listen more and come back to this.
