I remember as a kid hearing Bamboléo on the radio all the time, when I was in Turkey. I danced with my parents, but mostly with the busdriver, who is one of the sweetest souls I have met to this day. Like Bamboléo and the memory, the other songs are great, and a good introduction to anyone who wants to listen to Flamenco!
Cannot give the godfather of lo-fi Hip Hop anything lower than 100. The album has a soothing, surrealistic vibe, is the best in its genre and feels nostalgic and fresh at the same time. When I don't feel like listening to rap I can just switch to the instrumentals and still capture the same feeling. If there exists a best kind of being lovesick, then this is it. R.I.P.
Finished the 4 LZ albums, still think the first one is the best, don't know why.
1.Baby, baby, I'm gonna leave you
2.Baby, I don't wanna leave you
3.I know I never, never, never, never, never gonna leave you, babe
Pretty much my thoughts on this album.
Feel like I don't wanna be bothered
I feel like you may be the problem
I feel like it ain't no tomorrow, fuck the world
The world is ending, I'm done pretendin'
And fuck you if you get offended
Relatable af
I went to a record shop the other day and the owner looked at me with a big smile and said Fela Kuti had like 10 wives or something. I didn't need this information and didn't know what exactly to respond, I just like his music. Anyways, the saxophone on gentleman slaps and that's already a reason to give this a 100
Orchestral, theatrical, fairytale-like, different from other hip hop
