Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy
90

Relistened to this for the review and holy shit I relate to almost every single track, in terms of writing this is Tyler's strongest I think every song just has so much to it and the writing can be very direct when it wants to be.
Some stand out tracks I relate heavily to are Foreward, Garden Sheds, boredom, 911 and November.
Some stand out lyrics are,

"And if I fall and don't come back
Who's gonna know?
I'm wondering if I don't come back
Maybe then I'll ... read more

slayr - Half Blood
85

Rage at its absolute best, I love the melodies on this and slayr is a great rapper aswell as that. The production feels so bright but when Slayr goes for more darker tones it lands aswell with Never Go Down being a highlight track for me. The album is very diverse with its sound and with a short runtime of only around half an hour it feels almost addictive to listen to. The transitions between songs also add to that seamless and addictive vibe.

slayr - Half Blood (BloodLuxe)
89

Just eating the new tracks, this is the best rage music I've ever heard and although it gets a little repetitive and some songs don't hit as much as others this album has some real high highs that make it such a fun listen. The production is so good it gives everything enough space, one of my main complaints around rage music is that it often feels cluttered or like too much is happening all at once. Slayr manages to keep that chaotic energy and production while also not feeling too ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
98

Possibly the greatest pop album ever, very hard to even find stuff I don't like about it other than some songs take a min or two to click or to get going. The album starts off incredibly and somehow it gets better after every song. The production is just so well crafted it hits a part of my brain I didn't know could be hit I've never been left in awe of an album the way this has before. I also love Mikas vocals and that melody that appears throughout the album is so catchy and it ... read more

Jawkze - I'm Already Gone
65

Discovered this random niche artist named "Jawkze", I said fuck it I'll listen thinking it would be some hot ass. But I surprisingly liked it and thought it was solid enough, this jawkze kid got potential yknow this was a better album then The Fall Off

J. Cole - The Fall-Off
58

The fall asleep finally dropped to my disappointment. If he cut the tracklist in half it would be 10x better because the highs are pretty good but there is so much filler that it's mind numbing to listen to. If I gotta skip half the tracks to enjoy an album then I don't wanna listen to it.

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
90

Don't know what to say other than this is pretty fucking good. The tracklist just floats along and it never feels boring despite it not being exciting or up beat the execution of it is incredible. Every track holds emotional weight and you get this feeling of how important this album is just by listening to it, it's calming and haunting at the same time it's truly one of a kind

Don Toliver - OCTANE
55

Really disappointed since I love Don but this album is just a huge nothing burger designed to spawn Tiktok edits and farm streaming money off Spotify rap caviar playlists. A couple cool songs but other than that nothing worth listening to

Brent Faiyaz - Icon
70

It's a Brent faiyaz album... Idk what to say it's a nice listen but nothing really sticks out kinda just Brent playing it safe not really trying anything new it's not necessarily bad but it's not really exciting either. It's not something I'm dying to listen to again but if I hear a song from it I'm still gonna enjoy it

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
82

This is an interesting album, theres a lot going on here but rocky is at his best when he goes more experimental on this album rather than when he tries to play it safe. I really like songs like STFU and Robbery because of that and songs like Order of Protection and Playa get forgotten because they sound too basic. I also feel like the second disk was unnecessary because Swat Team and Fish N Steak do nothing for me He shouldve just held onto those and dropped a deluxe with Flackito Jodye and ... read more

Baby Keem - Ca$ino
91

I'm actually really impressed by this album and how Keem is able to show his versatility across the project. The strongest points of the album are when he is trying new things. Songs like I am not a lyricist, No Security, Dramatic Girl and No Blame all sound distinct from one another and are all unique styles yet all of them land on their feet. Going into this I didn't know what to expect but I feel like I got what I needed from this as disappointing as it may seem only getting 11 ... read more

Bruno Mars - The Romantic
50

Bruno at his least creative and his most boring, no stand out tracks, no cool ideas just a snooze fest. Bruno it's time to get back with Anderson Paak for Silk Sonic 2

Santino Browne - Outsider Hypothesis
72

Cool album I discovered pretty short but it manages to spread itself with unique ideas throughout the small and short tracklist. Santino finds his groove best when he is more melodic and the music is more up beat and jazzy, its a nice soundscape i hope he explores more. The outro song is slower and is driving by a soft calming piano that is a pleasent listen. While most this album is good there is a blemish, the song Bye ft USNA is not a song that works for me. Its very expeerimental with its ... read more

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
88

This album is such a fun listen, what it does best is varie itslef between different styles, There is no singular best sound for the album and when it leans into its ideas heavy it really hits hard. Slower more methodical and personal songs such as blueslides and ohio are more focused on the lyrics and q's storytelling then the overall energy of the song with these songs having more lofi beats. But the album has its bangers too, movie, pop and pig feet are great examples of this as not ... read more

GIVĒON - TAKE TIME
80

Giveons EP Take Time is a well crafted and short listen that sets the tone for his career well. I listened to his album BELOVED and loved it so i was excited to go back and look at his older projects and this didnt dissapoint. Every song has a dreamy athmosphere with its cloudy production that complements Giveons unique voice well. The songwriting throughout is catchy and memorable as giveon seemlessly glides through every track. That being the songs can sound very similar to one another and ... read more

Clairo - Charm
90

Such a lush and calming listen, every song is beautiful and atmospheric its the perfect music to study to although you might find yourself zoning out and just appreciating the music too much. The album has incredible consistency but i feel that the last 3 tracks arent as good as the others. Those songs are still good but maybe because theyre at the tailend of the album they sounds a bit too derivative of other songs on the album. Overall this album is an incredible listen that id highly ... read more

Saba - CARE FOR ME
88

Saba delivers a dreamy and personal album that makes you float away while getting vivid descriptions of events Saba has lived through. The album finds it strong points with unique productions with the outros of songs often being the strong points. The production does often overshadow Saba at times but its something im willing to get past. The features on the album dont do much to excite me as Saba pretty easily outshines them on every track.

Jim Legxacy - black british music (2025)
92

86 ~> 92
The more I listen the better it gets, Jim Legaxcy is turning into one of my favourite artists

Just an awesome album, caught myself drifting and just vibing to the music such a well executed project with the main downside being how some songs should be longer which is certainly a great issue to have. A lot of the songs do blend together making both a smooth listen but also leaving some songs as forgettable blurs from memory. All in all this album is class

Tame Impala - Deadbeat
72

EDIT: 81 ~> 72, overtime the songs have been growing off me as an overall album its good but its replay value isnt too enticing

Tame Impala provides us with entrancing and bouncy beats on this new album. He performs well on most the songs and the production is incredible however there are moments where it feels like hes going nowhere with a song or where a boring part of a beat is dragging on. But in all this is a great experience that caught me just thinking of nothing but the music i was ... read more
