What to say about this record? It seems a fated collaboration, West's weird with Cudi's softly sinister smile. Out of this world, next gen hip hop artistry, way before its time.
An ode to the many shades of American romance, this record is a welcome addition to del Rey's discography following the delicate sadness of Norman Fucking Rockwell! Tulsa Jesus Freak really shines as the cashmere diamond in this cotton nest of love, woven with a soft touch of Lana's brand of nostalgic loneliness you can't quite place your finger on. A record for lovers of tried and true timeless romance.
A strong effort for an EP, with a crooning, needy titular track that stands apart from the rest of the roster. A little all over the place, but a rewarding experiment. Thumbs up from me.
Fades into the background a little too easy, but has some power and conviction in parts.
