Memphis Rap Album #5: Underground Vol. 1 (1991-1994)
This album is far more lo-fi and relaxed than something like Mystic Stylez, which is rather interesting to hear in a memphis rap context. Ts is pretty fucking inconsistent. Sucks on Dick followed by Playa Hataz has to be fucking studied. Paul With Da 45 should not be 5 minutes long (Can be said for a lot of songs on this album). A lot of the songs are super repetative. I like my death grippy bruh
Nah but genuinely this album has some of the craziest production I've ever had the pleasure of hearing in a hip hop album. Ts is so fucking tuff. It's really not that similar to Death Grips other than being Industrial & Experimental, but you can definitely hear the development of sounds that would be later used by the likes of Death Grips & clipping. (1st song is lowk the peak of the album but like the rest of it is also fantastic so its ok)

"@californiaboy ig there's just too many songs i dont fw on GNX (Squabble Up, Luther, TV Off, Dodgers Blue, & the title track), while in comparison to DAMN where its like, 2 songs (GOD & YAH) and the rest i fw. Also DAMN has a reasonably focused and impactful story which compliments the songs well."
