Times Of Desperation - Vegan Manifesto
89

incredible metalcore with genuine hardcore influences. that vocalist is spitting pure fury, and some of the best metallic hard riffage ive heard in a minute. this band should be on high billing placement on fests like FYA and United Blood if they were in the US

Dijon - Baby

its like prince if he had Brakence production

Descendents - Milo Goes to College

the elusive backloaded album

why are people talking about powerade zero?

Scowl - Are We All Angels
77

r/hardcore may be big mad about this record but there's a lot of slappers here, Kat really honed in her craft and really has a great taste for melodies. I do wish there was some more variety in the instrumentals, it's not nearly as innovative and experimental as all these outlets are making it out to be.

but that's nitpicky, still a very fun record

"we have obituary at home"

feeble little horse - This Is Real
90

they got more genres in three minutes than most bands have in their whole discography

Anxious - Bambi
67

This was really nice! Like other reviews have said, very little remains of their melodic hardcore beginnings, but they seem to have found a nice niche in emo/pop punk. Theres some really earnest some writing on this album, and melodic tricks to keep me engaged, but it does start to sound samey after a while. thankfully the back end of this record picks up, I'll Be Around is a fantastic closer

Suicide - Suicide
35

it gets points for being ahead of its time, but it's a pretty grating listen most of the time

PARTYNEXTDOOR - $ome $exy $ongs 4 U
NR

impressed they came out with a posthumous Drake so quickly!

Jane Remover - JRJRJR
70

could use more low end

*flips through notes*
fuck it, its even better than It's Inside You. Wall to Wall bangers, better incorporation of their electronic and industrial experimental noises

Sepultura - Chaos A.D.
86

This has aged like fine wine. Sepultura knows when they have a great riff or groove and just let the music do the talking as needed. this is heavy as piss, while still being delightfully dynamic on tracks like The Hunt while not coming across as a buzzkill.

For 1993, a surprisingly huge amount of crazy mosh parts that would fit in super nicely on this 2020s hardcore landscape. Like, seriously, it seems like most metallic hardcore bands of the last 10 years have been trying to emulate the ... read more

Nails - Every Bridge Burning
88

it's remarkable to be very familiar with nails discography and still be steamrolled and crushed by the sheer intensity of this new record. its records like that make you sign in relief that you can still be surprised and FEEL

Four Year Strong - Analysis Paralysis
67

big dawg on the cover just learned about their beef with ADTR

charli and billie go together like oil and water. like wake up on in the booth girl, its okay to not always use your super raspy, low key singing

Speed - ONLY ONE MODE

gonna start shouting "SPEED" during normal, mundane activities in public...will keep everyone posted
