Despite a couple of tracks that feel a little undercooked, this is a really gorgeous and entrancing listen. Has the potential to become a late-night favourite.
It's completely mental yet methodical, it's charming, it's eccentric, it's confident, it's playful... It's everything you could ever want from a 45 min listening experience.
These Geese mfs have done it again. AOTY
To me the real highlight of the record are Karly's vivid and heartfelt lyrics, made of stories and memories that sometimes reduce to just a series of pictures. Sound wise, it's the classic alt-country-noise Wednesday formula that, although always does the job, I wish they would be more adventurous with.
A very dynamic and colorful collection of indie rock tunes with catchy melodies that draw on the group's evident pop influences. The chemistry between the band members is palpable, and I can't wait to see what their debut full-length project will bring!
Double Infinity is Big Thief's delicate and bittersweet reflection on the passage of time. It explores the idea of overcoming the overwhelming sense of nostalgia that can arise from ageing by finding someone to love — be it a partner, friend, or family member.
Accompanied by warm percussions and soft guitars, the trio realises that the hourglasses of our lives are not filled with a fixed number of grains, but rather, as Adrianne puts it, we are:

Not really my cup of tea, some made me vibe, some made me snooze... Not a fan of the vocal performance either
Super creative, ever changing and ambitious record! While the guitars are definitely the glue that keeps together the album, the frequent unsettling sounds, spacey, noisy parts and the laid back -almost spoken- vocals give a unique artsy spin to the project. Might take a few listens, but once it clicks with you, it won't disappoint.
This is an album that doesn't tell you how to feel. Here, the music steps back and lets your memories fill the spaces left by the eerie, drawn-out chords.
Best enjoyed with your eyes closed.
Pretty breezy, pretty weightless, pretty forgettable. Feels like a step backwards from Pratts & Pain (which I liked a lot) for the Australian duo.
I saw them live a couple of months ago, the energy and vibes were high... let's hope they bring more of that in the next record !!
Loved the storytelling drenched with nostalgia, perfectly complemented by the slow-burning instrumental of many songs. A record that starts strong, looses a bit of momentum in the middle but finishes stronger, with the absolutely incredible Tempest and Waco, Texas.
I mean, it does not reinvent the wheel, but it is still an enjoyable listen if you like the genre. It checks all the boxes, the guitars are loud, the vocals are gorgeous and the heavily distorted wall of sounds carry a profound emotional impact. To me, the biggest weakness of the record is the frequent lack of song structure, as in many tracks I feel that the loud main riff is thrown in your face without even trying to build a song around it.
I really wish I liked more this album, but everytime I give it a listen I'm left somewhat uninspired. I get that the stylistic choice to keep the instrumentals very minimalistic to leave room to the real star of the show, the beautifully harmonizing vocals, but this to me feels like a missed opportunity. See, for example, the main source of inspiration for this record: pet sounds. I believe that there, the instrumentals actually manage to complement even more the vocals, without just ... read more
Super fresh, playful and ever changing album. Loved the fact that not in a single point of the record I could predict how the next minute would sound like. Cameron's range is incredible.
I think that Alex G's sound works best when it is a little dirtier and less produced that this. Still a very engaging mixture of jangly-folk songs, with warm melodies and some interesting ideas here and there
I don't know, besides a couple of songs, to me it feels pretty generic and forgettable... Multiple listens didn't help either
I truly believe this woman is an angel ❤️❤️❤️

Don't care if this is basic. Don't care if this is over hyped. This is the benchmark. This is the shit u have to aim for if u do this type of music. Fuckin timeless. Fuckin loveless.
Finally gave it a listen and it and daaaamn it was worth it. Can't really go wrong with vocals this gorgeous + chill dreamy instrumentals. Wish some songs had more bite to them but I feel that this album will grow on me.
