Lil Tecca - We Love You Tecca 2
85

Tecca has finally found his lane

This is hands down the best album he’s put out. We Love You Tecca was a boring ass album, and Virgo World was just meh. For a while he was in serious danger of being permanently labeled a one hit wonder.

Luckily tho, he started making songs like this, and they sound great. He’s really found something he can do well and made a whole album of it. Except the songs don’t all sound the same like they did on the first WLYT. This album not only ... read more

Trippie Redd - Trip At Knight
100

God DAMN this goes hard. This is the best album Trippie’s made in years. The man has been on fire recently, and this is the culmination of that. Every single song slaps. Some people might say the songs sound the same, but that’s because they’re all FIRE. You can literally pick a song at random and know it’s gonna slap. Zero skips. These sound like Pierre Bourne beats on steroids. Listening to this has got me on another planet fr. 10/10 album.

YNW Melly - Just A Matter of Slime
90

I wasn’t that impressed by his last album, but this one is really good. Sticks with his melodic style while involving lots of features to keep it interesting. It’s also a very tight album. There are no pointless filler tracks either. The only downside of the whole album is that Young N*gga Shit is garbage, all the rest of the songs slap. Thugged Out and Na Na Na Boo Boo take a few listens, but once you get used to them they’re fire too. Mind of Melvin is the best song, but ... read more

Young Nudy - Rich Shooter
80

Gotta say, I like this one better than Dr Ev4l. The two albums are pretty similar, but Dr Ev4ls biggest issue has been fixed here. The beats on the first album were mostly pretty generic, and kinda let down the whole horror movie vibe. Here, the combination of Pierre and Coupe beats does justice to the vibe of the album. Everything else is about the same level. It could’ve used some more big name features to help carry the 20 song project, but overall solid album.

Sidenote: That album ... read more

Yung Bleu - Moon Boy
35

Why did Drake give this man a verse?

Like many people, I first found Bleu from the drake feature and decided to try this album to see if he was worth listening to. Sadly, the answer is no.
There’s just nothing interesting about him. Everything he does, so many other people do way better. Despite an absolutely LOADED list of features, not a single song is worth adding to your playlists. They’re all so slow and generic that they’ll put you to sleep. Anybody who can manage to ... read more

The Kid LAROI - F*CK LOVE 3+: OVER YOU
50

Why did he drop this?

F*ck Love 3 was pretty good. He should’ve just left it at that and moved on. Instead, we got a deluxe that feels like a bunch of mediocre songs that were cut for time from the regular album. It’s basically the same as the Culture 3 deluxe in that it’s very obviously just a ploy to boost streaming numbers rather than an artistic continuation of the album. Not terrible, just meh, and overall unnecessary.

Migos - Culture III (Deluxe)
60

They deadass just dropped this to try to steal the top spot from Polo. It didn’t even work either. Look, Culture 3 was a solid album, but them boys petty as hell for trying to take the top spot from a young deserving artist. And thats really not what you want to see from industry pioneers like Migos. The 5 extra songs themselves just sound like the ones that were cut for time from the regular album. It’s a real bad look fs

Marshmello - Shockwave
NR

Vibr8 f*cking slaps, Shockwave is decent, Hitta is alright, the rest are just kinda meh. To be clear, they’re not meh because they’re 2013 skrillex-esque dubstep songs, they’re meh because they’re meh.

I actually don’t mind those types of songs, and it’s actually nice to hear since not many people make that stuff anymore. Just because it’s not popular anymore doesn’t mean it’s not still good. However, in this case since most of these songs ... read more

Polo G - Hall of Fame
93

I’m convinced y’all aren’t actually listening to the music before rating it, cause some of y’all saying stuff that’s 100% wrong. This is NOTHING like his last album. It’s definitely the most polished and has much more variety than The Goat. The piano beats that had overrun the last album and become tiring to many listeners are almost completely gone (There are only a few in this 20 song album). In their place are a variety of guitar beats, drill beats, and ... read more

YG & Mozzy - Kommunity Service
90

Something y'all dont seem to realize is that YG has always been carried by features. Even from the beginning he relied on other artists to carry him through long albums, this isn't anything new. I don't have a problem with that, it just means that he understands his limitations and we get to hear new verses from an array of different artists. When you take that into consideration, this album is great. Every song slaps and hits the vibe it's going for, and everybody does their part here. Mozzy ... read more

SpotemGottem - Most Wanted
NR

Spottemgottem has apparently never heard of sticking to what you’re good at, as he stupidly decides to go an RnB direction despite being SpottemGottem. Look bruh, imma tell you what somebody should’ve told Nahmir: Just stick to the gang shit, you can’t sing.

Young Nudy - DR. EV4L
70

THE GOOD: It’s a solid album. He seems to understand what he can and can’t do, and doesn’t stray very far from what he does well. That means there isn’t much variety, but I wasn’t expecting much variety coming into it. I don’t really listen to Nudy much, but most of the songs are about the same level of decent. 2face was a standout hit, 21 and Uzi both did alright.

THE BAD: The production was pretty basic, which was kinda disappointing cause I was hoping an ... read more

Lil Skies - Unbothered (Deluxe)
50

Despite the title, it seems many people were bothered by Skies sophomore album, myself included. Yes he’s showing growth, and that’s great, but Skies isn’t an artist you listen to for growth. You listen for the bangers, and that’s about it. Even Skies seemed to acknowledge this by announcing his first ever deluxe album. This would’ve been the perfect opportunity to drop a deluxe loaded with summer bangers and fix all the problems Unbothered had. It would’ve ... read more

Slaughter Gang - Spiral: From the Book of Saw Soundtrack
80

21 doesn’t release sloppy projects and this is no exception.

First of all, the title track is INCREDIBLE. 21 sounds great, but the beat is the highlight of the whole EP. The Nudy song is decent. The opening of Down Bad sounds like an Evanescence song, and while the song itself is kinda mid, the opening is probably the most necessary considering this is a movie soundtrack. Emergency is good, it just feels kinda random, like they just threw in a random song from 21’s vault at the ... read more

Tee Grizzley - Built For Whatever
85

This is the best project Grizzley has made in a while.

That’s mostly due to the variety of songs on here, which is what his past few projects have been lacking. There is of course lots of his usual quick tempo gang rapping, but this time every song or two he’ll switch up the style. He’ll, switch to a melodic song, sometimes a deep song, a turn up with some other big rappers, a song with some lesser-known guys, there are a few narrative story songs on here, great variety. ... read more

Thomas Rhett - Country Again (Side A)
80

Similar to the way he overtook Sam Hunt to become king of pop country, Thomas Rhett has now been overtaken by Dan and Shay, and he’s ok with that. There’s a deeper reason for his sound shift though. He’s moving away from the pop country party albums because we’re seeing the more grown up Thomas Rhett here. He’s no longer trying to be a wild party animal, this album shows us Thomas Rhett the father. He’s grown up now. He’s got a wife and three kids, and ... read more

Moneybagg Yo - A Gangsta's Pain
70

Not as many bangers as a regular bagg album but I respect the direction he’s trying to go on this. He’s one of those rappers who can just make you laugh out loud without even trying. The song with Jhene Aiko is just hilarious and I can’t explain why. However, I don’t like it as much as Time Served. Most people come to a bagg album just looking for bangers, and Time Served was just an album full of them. There are a few here but not as many as you would hope for on a 22 ... read more

Justin Moore - Straight Outta the Country
85

I’m gonna be honest, over the pandemic I kinda forgot Justin Moore existed. He definately came back strong with this album though. I definately like it better than his last album, and there’s a good mix of different song types. “When we didn’t have much” is such a great song too. The only real downside is that it’s pretty short, almost EP length. I hope we’ll get a deluxe soon, but for right now this is a solid little album.

Internet Money, Lil Tecca & Lil Mosey - JETSKI
95

F*CK YEAH!!! THIS SONG SLAPS. This has me so hyped for summer it’s insane.

Internet Money seem to be the only ones who know how to do a Lil Mosey feature correctly. You put him on the hook, give him a bubblegum beat with hella bass, and BOOM, instant summer banger.

Young Dolph & Key Glock - Dum and Dummer 2
65

My only real issue with Dolph is that every song he’s ever made sounds like every other song he’s ever made. Every new album is just more songs exactly like all his other songs. I’m pretty sure he could drop an album of music he’s already released and I wouldn’t notice. It’s like his entire discography is one single song.

That being said, his song is pretty decent. I especially like the Aspen section of the song.
