It’s a good album, it’s just kinda long. It would’ve been better to cut out the filler and go with 14-16 songs, cause it’s pretty repetitive and you can get bored easily. Still, if you are somebody who likes this kind of music it’s a pretty good album. The best way I can describe him and this album is: “An 18 year old G Herbo making youngboy songs.
Idk. The album isn’t bad, it just had the potential to be so much more than it is. Most of the songs are average, and then there are some that are slightly above average. This had the potential to be an album full of bangers and it just isn’t. I love melodic trap too, so again, I don’t hate it, I’m just kinda disappointed.
EDIT: Mood still f*cking slaps tho
Y’all really hate them don’t you? And that begs the question: If you already hate them and everything they stand for, why did you even bother listening? And if you just came here to complain without even listening to the album, then get a life.
If you hate this album, I guarantee you belong to one of these three groups:
Group 1: COUNTRY MUSIC?!? Ughh. How could ANYONE listen to that terrible stuff?!? (Ughh)
Group 2: It wasn’t made by Hank Williams Jr 50 years ago so it ... read more
This is actually a really good album. For somebody who has a very limited amount of music, he has a very defined sound. The idea for this project was clearly to keep that same sound, but make it just different enough to keep it interesting. The production is excellent, and the way his vocals blend with the song is really well done. Don’t let the old men fool you, if you can enjoy the pop side of country music, you will like this album.
Y’all trippin. This is LOADS better than anything else he’s put out recently. Are you going to like it if you don’t already like Smokepurpp? No. That’s just a given for any of his projects. But is it an improvement from the letdown that was Florida Jit? Absolutley.
He’s getting better. His last two albums have been pretty big letdowns, but most of the songs here feel like he’s started trying again. Probably because he realizes he was becoming more irrelevant by the day, and at this point, and OG-Rich-sounding “The World Is Yours 3” might be the only thing that can save him.
Sidenote: MORE SONGS LIKE “LAUGHING”. Rich isn’t a lyrical rapper, and that’s okay. He just needs to embrace the hype songs instead of ... read more
He’s trying to sound different, and for once, that’s not a good thing. Skies isn’t exactly known for his versatility, he has a very defined style. He’s at his best when he’s heavily auto tuned singing over trap beats with BOOMING 808’s and a bit of emo thrown in. So basically, this album could’ve used more songs like Take 5 (which is the best song btw). That’s why “Ok” doesnt work, it’s not bad, it’s just incredibly ... read more
Let me explain to all the new listeners how a Playboi Carti album works. The first listen will never be above a 50. The second time it gets a bit better, maybe like a ten point jump. The third listen the rating shoots up and it becomes a really solid album. After that, the album is just excellent, and you’re just jamming to almost every songs. So just give it a few listens, that’s just how Carti music works.
OH MY GOD this could legitimately go down as the biggest wasted opportunity of 2019. I have so many thoughts about this album flying around in my head, I’m going to try to write them down as best I can.
First of all, let’s call it like it is. Billy Ray is a one hit wonder from the 90’s who’s managed to stick around in pop culture because he’s Miley Cyrus’ dad. And so, when he was thrust into the national spotlight after being put on “Old Town ... read more
There are so many people that do his shit now, I can’t stop thinking I would rather be listening to them. I’m sure all the hardcore Cudi fans are exited that he’s gotten back to his spacey vibes music, but to a casual fan, I hear this type of stuff so much that it isn’t special anymore. You can call me ignorant if you want, but this just isn’t that interesting to people who aren’t emotionally invested in him.
I mean, there are a few songs that are actually pretty decent, but come on guys. The man’s biggest song has a chorus consisting of the words “hoes mad” 24 times. I’m not sure what you were expecting honestly
Y’all acting like you were expecting them to come out with Kendrick Lamar lyrical ability all of a sudden. C’mon guys, it’s Future and Uzi, they make hype shit. You should’ve known what you were in for the moment you chose to listen, because its exactly what you’d expect, and it’s fire.
Imma be honest, this was kinda disappointing. Much like the last Rich The Kid album, I came in excited to listen but most of the songs just fall flat. The whole thing sounds like a bunch of Rich The Kid features were thrown into an already half-assed youngboy album. Kinda feels like Rich is just trying to capitalize on Youngboy’s recent relevance spike, and idk how I feel about that.
I don’t know what y’all smokin, this shit is FIRE. Perfect mix of trap and melodic emotion. He proves hes got bars and can make songs that touch your soul. So unique and features all do a solid job. Looks like he’s here to stay.
I understand he’s trying to diversify with his songs, but let me put it this way: You don’t listen to Memphis rappers for deep and thoughtful music, ya feel me?
Just try to listen to this without smiling. You can't.
Although I will say this. I have noticed Gravy has turned into a kind-of "Dancing with the Stars" for rappers, where all the mainstream artists on here are clearly not where they want their careers to be. Other than "Love Sosa" not many people bump Chief Keef nowadays, I forgot Ski Mask existed, and Young Dolph had to give away a Lambo to get people to buy his album. Of course that's nothing against Gravy, the man is ... read more
I've never been a fan of YG. His sound is generic and stale, and there are so many people who do what he does better than him. I didn't like any of the singles he released and FTP was just terrible. So I was really surprised when I started playing the album, and it wasn't half bad. I thought all the features were pretty solid, the Mosey feature was a bit strange but it didn't ruin the song or anything so it's whatever i guess. Yes the album has a lot of features, but that actually makes it ... read more
Ok, so I think I’ve figured out why there’s so much hate on this album. Everything about the lead up to this album indicated that he was going in a more personal direction (long hiatus, cover art, music videos with his kids, ect.) and that’s why the album got so many pre orders. Because of that, there are a lot of new people who don’t listen to him to see what all the fuss is about. But then, instead of making deeper music, he goes in the complete opposite direction, and ... read more
