A copy of Drake on minimalks with the addition of a huge amount of hip-hop and afrobeat. Expectations exceeded the release itself. Even a cover of Donna Summer doesn't save this situation (Sam Smith did better).
The album is extremely not musical. Drake's voice is full of autotune and resonates with the music. The only thing I liked was the good bits. Trying to be like the Weeknd failed, Drake doesn't have enough vocal data for that. If we compare it with Kendrick Lamar, whose jazz rap album was AS ORGANIC and MUSICAL as POSSIBLE, then Drake showed how NOT to record albums in which you mix rap with other genres.
Already from the introduction of this album it is heard that it will not be like all the usual rap albums. It sounds very fascinating, addictive and intimate. The album sounds like an early and bold Kanye.
