This dude sounds like a little girl trying to do black metal vocals. It’s genuinely painful. Instrumentation is pretty alright with a solid black-thrash vibe. The vocals just kill it for me.
The no-wave era of Swans seems to get less interesting as it goes. Still worth the time for the context it gives to this time period for the band and Gira.
Blistering. Makes you feel disposable when you listen to it. Another difficult listen with slightly less to grab onto as far as heaviness goes when compared to Filth. Still an interesting listen.
A deeply impactful and mesmerizing project from pre-hiatus swans. Feels as though your being raptured into a fucked up hell of Gira and Jarboe’s making. This album inducts into a cult and if this is your first Swans listen, it’ll induct you too.
