This album has some really phenomenal stuff on it, but unfortunately it just isn’t super consistent. Overall I think it’s really good, but it feels like they put a lot of effort into 3-4 of the songs and the rest are just kind of filler things, most of which are still enjoyable. I just find the slower tracks to be long and repetitive.
One of the most bittersweet songs I’ve ever heard. One of my absolute favourites of all time. Absolutely perfect in the way that I wouldn’t change anything about this song.
I’d first like to mention the song Can’t Carry On, which was on the original Australian release and included on future releases of the album, but isn’t included on the tracklist here which sucks, because it’s great and one of the strongest deep cuts in here, so I’d give it a 90.

About time I give this album a proper updated review. A great case of an album growing on me from jsut being pretty good to amazing. I LOVE the production here, a perfect blend of synth-funk-rock, It’s the shit. Songwriting here is also really good and shows a great transition to this new era for the band. Super solid all around.
Enjoyed this one more than I was initially expecting to be honest. Such a unique release, so different I’m kind of surprised it became a hit. This is really cool, though, I love the contrasting genres. Second side is sort of weak especially compared to the first, but nothing unforgivable. Awesome!
I gotta start by saying that this cover is ridiculously awesome. The stuff in this album was surprisingly “different” and took a bit of listening for it to grow on me, and it has for the most part. While still great, I found some of the hooks and stuff on this album to be sort of lacking? Nothing on this album is like absolutely amazing, it’s just mostly pretty great, which I still respect.

A pretty solid song, but a tad below Duran Duran standards in my opinion
