A powerful experience. A very powerful experience. One of the most haunting records I’ve heard in a very long while. Without saying a word, this album says so much. Broken Spires At Dead Kapital and Pale Spectator Takes Photographs particularly struck me in a way that deeply captivated and unnerved me. A brilliant album that I may never return to but one that I will absolutely remember. Thank you Godspeed.
Starting David Bowie's discography. Back to back musical geniuses in Bob Dylan and David Bowie. When it comes to Bob's self titled, there's quite a lot to enjoy! When it comes to Bowie's....not as much. There's really only one or two tracks I actually liked on this record. I really liked When I Live My Dream! I also really like Come And Buy My Toys. We Are Hungry Men is SHOCKING! Like it could never be sang today. I'm even shocked it made it to the record back in ... read more
Just gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! I listened to this mostly in the dark and it made for one of those experiences you don’t really forget! A beautiful album. If you’ve never taken the time to listen to it, I couldn’t recommend it more
Oof. Man. That hit me much harder than I expected it to. I am crying from this album. Fucking brilliant.
My favorite album of Dylan’s! I know that’s rather bold of me but I mean it! It has 0 negatives! The lyricism is the best that he’s had since maybe Blood on the Tracks which was 45 years earlier! Seriously! Murder Most Foul was absolutely stunning! An all timer in his discography! May the all timer! From top to bottom that song is amazing! He wastes no time in the song leaving little room for instrumentation while he talks to you about murder! An unbelievable performance in ... read more
I fucking loved this album! I might just be a sucker for jazz but I fucking loved this album! From top to bottom! An excellent record! A top 3 for me
His first jazz album has quite a few misses but mostly hits! A very good album!
I am really starting to like his cover albums. His early career cover albums were bad to terrible. This is definitely one of his best cover albums! Solid album overall
This is certainly a step down from the past 3 records but still a good one nonetheless. A few songs I don’t really care for but a good album
As a guy who doesn’t really care for poppy records, this just did it for me! Finneas O’ Connel has a future ahead of him! I hope he doesn’t let the middling reviews of this album get him down cause this is genuinely excellent!
Back to back to back brilliant Dylan records! Seriously this is another perfect Dylan Record! It's from beginning to end a damn brilliant album! Very close to a spotless record in my opinion and one of his best records. He was on a hot streak in the 2000's and this is just another addition to that hot streak. When The Deal Goes Down is my favorite song on this record. Very great record!
A very unique album for Dylan as rather than sticking to a single subgenre of Rock, it stretches into several different subgenres. Some jazz rock in there which everyone knows I love! Some blues! Some Folk! Some Americana! Some Roots! Some reggae sounding rock! Just a whole lotta everything in there and something I really like. Such a fun album released on such a dark day in history. I didn't love Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum at all! I'd go as far as to say I dislike that song but ... read more
An album that's able to both beat you over the head with heavy production and able to discuss some heavy topics that many bands weren't back in the 2000s. Prison Song is all about the bullshit prison system. Toxicity is about the toxic nature of society. I don't even think it's debatable that this album is the greatest Nu Metal album of all time. Banger after banger after banger. If you haven't heard it yet, pull the tapeworm out of your ass and go listen to it.
Black Midi's most recent album! I'm glad to say this is be their best work to date. Directly following Cavalcade it's definitely another step up for them. The lyricism becomes more haunting and brilliant. The production gets better, more layered, more complex. The songs rock hard. The songs keep a consistent pace. The songs The Race Is About To Begin, Sugar/Tzu, and 27 Questions, stand out to me specifically. They have truly proved that they are one of the best experimental rock ... read more
I don't necessarily understand the criticism for this album. I thought it was a pretty good album. It's not great
This is one of his best! I’d heard covers of Make You Feel My Love especially. The most obvious of which being Adele’s cover of it. I didn’t even know it was a cover honestly! This album is absolutely brilliant! One of his absolute best! Highlands is a bit of a slow song but at the same time it is 16 minutes long!
