This is really great.
JPEGMAFIAs most acclaimed album on this site is great, but it does have some issues. The second half of the album is brilliant, while the first half is a mixed bag of incredible tracks and boring ones.
The instrumentals are great, but they do feel unfinished at times, mainly because of the lenght of some songs (the ones that last like 2 minutes). Peggys vocals are also nice.
Best track: either Hazard Duty Pay or The Ghost of Ranking Dread
Worst track: End Credits
Honestly, im impressed.
The only reason i listened to this is because of the song No Children, which blew me away. I think nothing on the album is comparable to it, but its still an incredible project.
I like the folky instrumentals, but they can feel kinda similar, but i dont mind. The vocals are also amazing, a great example is No Children of course.
Best track: No Children
Worst (weakest) track: International Small Arms Traffic Blues
Expected better.
Oh boy, the beloved Talking Heads is up next. Its solid and ahead of its time, sure, but it aint that incredible in my eyes. It has 2 high highs, the others are just "alright".
The production is great, but it can feel random at times, which annoys me because there are actual incredible moments like the guitar on "The Great Curve". The vocals feel like nothing at some moments, but they are mostly fine.
Best track: either The Great Curve or Once In A ... read more
Its a nice album.
Nothing too spectacular, but it is consistent and a good listen. Also, fuck Džoni (the frontman of Azra) for removing almost any trace of this album on streaming.
The instrumentals are really good, but they also sound like every Ex-Yu New Wave band. The vocals are also good, the only vocals i have an issue with is on the song "Iggy Pop" which are kinda annoying.
Best track: Krvava Meri
Worst (weakest) track: Iggy Pop
If you love the sounds of mosquitoes buzzing, then this is a perfect album for you!
Eh, its alright. Like every Death Grips record that i listened to, it has bangers, but it has filler tracks that feel straight up pointless.
MC Ride is doing his usual thing, screaming random stuff. The instrumentals are either fun or just straight up boring to listen to.
Best track: You Might Think He Loves You
Worst track: Bootleg
Oh fuck off.
Listened to the second single, and Dino YET AGAIN made 2 similar songs, both have the same chorus and similar texts, but both have different instrumentals and one has a feature.
He has done this before, on his 2 previous singles, Krive Karte and Kako da ti kažem. This song is actually solid, but this shit is just lazy.
Newest singles from Dino!
Skoro Će Zima is a nice song. Its not that mind blowing, but its entertaining. I really like the trumpets on this, and Dino has solid vocals.
Nice, but im not returning to this.
Andre 3000 is back with his instrumentals (mostly involving flute). Dont have anything to say, its just solid instrumentals.
Best track: The 1st track
I expected another Nah Nah Nah by these reviews.
You people are overreacting to this one. Its not that bad, but at the same time, it isnt good. Ty Dolla Sign and Durk sound decent, and Kanye feels really dry.
No, i wont talk about the Anti Semitic line, fuck you.
Edit: from 67 to 60
No words, Kanye didnt even try to finish it.
Only rating the Scary Hours tracks.
Not bad, Drake, not bad. Honestly, this suprised me, but it still aint great. Also, this feels totally disconnected from FATD, (not complaining, just pointing it out) and they probably bundled this with it just because marketing.
The production is the best part of this. I didnt expect Conductor Williams to be on this... uhh... EP i guess? Drake mostly raps on this one, (except for the last track) but it still feels really dead.
Best track: Stories About My ... read more
So, Danny finally dropped a solo album, and what are my thoughts? I expected better.
Oh boy, this will be a long one. Theres just something missing on this record. I didnt expect from this to be up to par with Atrocity Exibition, but i expected it to still be great. Dont get me wrong, i love some elements of this, but it kinda looses its "Danny Brown charm"
This album is really depressing compared to his other projects, which either improves or makes things worse on the projects. ... read more
My ears bleed.
First time listening to Clipping, and im honestly suprised. This feels like Run The Jewels with the more industrial sound to it.
I think that the rapping is superior to the instrumentals, which is, to me, unusual coming from a more experimental album.
Best track: either Story 2 or Get Up
Worst track: Tonight
Never expected a 070 Shake and Ken Carson collab, i also didnt expect it to go this hard.
Almost forgot to rate.
Well, this is the Beatles record that i wasnt sure if i was gonna listen to, but here we are. Right after Sgt. Peppers, this album was made along with the movie of the same name.
The instrumentals on this one are mostly psychedelic, similar to Sgt. Peppers once again. The vocals are also all over the place, but the movie itself feels like a drug trip so...
Best track: I am a Walrus
Worst (weakest) track: Blue Jay Way
This is so repetitve.
Look, i love Metro and 21, but almost everything feels the same. But still, there are incredible tracks like Runnin and Glock in my Lap.
The production is, like i said, mostly repetitive, and 21 Savage is just doing his thing. I also didnt expect Morgan Freeman to narrate this.
Best track: either Runnin or Glock in my Lap
Worst (weakest) track: Steppin on N*
I am probably the most neutral AJR review here.
This is their newest record, and to me its just another "grandiose" pop album. It has some solid elements, but they mostly fall flat at the end of the songs.
The production tries too much sometimes, and thats most of my problems with AJR. I get what they are going for in the lyrics, but the delivery comes of as kinda meh.
This album is just good.
People call this the "underrated" MF DOOM project, and i can understand that. It has some amazing songs, but some track feel unnecessary or are just kinda bad.
The production is interesting, but kinda loses the charm after the 2nd half. DOOMs lyrics are as good as always (excluding Batty Boyz, wtf is that song)
Best track: either Gazzillion Ear or Angelz
Worst track: Batty Boyz
This had potential to be Dinos best work.
Dino Merlin's album "Ispočetka" is probably the most interesting one. It has some of his all time best songs, while also having some kinda forgettable ones.
The instrumentals are really great, probably the best part of the album. Dino's vocals can sound off at times, but i really got used to it.
Best track: either Deset Mlađa or Ptica Bijela
Worst (weakest) track: either Drama or Klupko
Edit: from 86 to 88
Fuck it, its 10/10
This is one of the most magnificent pieces of music ever made. It sounds so slackery and so beautiful, it genuinely feels like im in Heaven while listening to this.
The instrumentals are the best part of this album. That perfect combination of folky acoustic guitars and loud electrical ones, the incredible combination of folk and rock.
The lyrics should be mentioned too. They really feel mysterious, theres probably a lot to pull out of them, but it still sounds incredible ... read more
