I really debated on rating this, but i did it anyways.
The reason i hesitated is because it clearly is slightly unfinished (in my opinion) and this album couldve been even greater if finished.
I love how the songs dont even transition in one another, they just change suddenly. The beats are really great, i really love the samples on it.
Best track: either Stop or U-Love
Worst (weakest) track: The Twister
Another solid Coldplay record.
I hate how the first half is much weaker compared to the second half. Like holy shit, some songs are really uninteresting, but after Yes, the whole album picks up with bangers.
The instrumentals range from incredible to basic pop sounds, and Chris Martin does a solid enough job when it comes to his vocals.
Best track: either Viva La Vida or Strawberry Swing
Worst (weakest) track: Cemeteries of London
Incredible stuff.
This album is so vibey. It honestly sounds like The Weeknd at some points with its vocals and synths, but it can also sound like Sgt Peppers Beatles with its psychedelic elements.
The vocals are great, the instrumentals are also great. Some songs can be weaker tho, some of them are too short or they arent as interesting as the other ones.
Best track: Let It Happen
Worst (weakest) track: Nangs
Cmon, its Thriller, you cant hate it.
Incredible stuff form Michael Jackson as always. He has so much energy while singing his ass off. Most of these songs are classics like Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean ect.
The production is also insane for its time. I honestly forget that the man himself Paul McCartney is on this record, he has a really underappreciated part on this album.
Best track: either Thriller, P.Y.T. or Billie Jean
This is actually a solid song for modern Drake standards. SZA honestly carried this. Drake is not that special at singing.
I just hope that he does something more unique on the album
Nas, please go to sleep.
Not even 3 months after the release of Magic 2, we already got a new Nas record, and its a shame that i didnt enjoy it as much as the previous installment.
Nas really needs to calm down with his releases and actually focus on the project a bit more. His rapping is mostly dry on this one. The samples are honestly the best part of this album.
Best track: Based on True Events Pt. 2
Worst track: Pretty Young Girl
I expected this to be slightly better, but its still good.
Lets get the obvious out of the way, Veteran has some really insane beats and sounds, like holy shit. It kinda wears down a bit on the secind half of the album, but it still has some solid parts.
Peggy is honestly really good at rapping, i love the crazy energy that he brings on some tracks. This record has some filler tracks, but its still a good listen.
Best track: either Rainbow Six or Real Nega
Worst (weakest) track: Libtard ... read more
Im sorry, but this album can be quite boring.
Dont get me wrong, there are good and iconic songs like Magnolia and Location, but the rest feel really uninteresting and bland. Those bad ones have either quiet vocals or boring beats.
While im on the topic of beats, they can range from iconic to just forgetable. Also, Carti's vocals are kinda weak, i prefer them on his later albums.
Best track: Magnolia
Worst track: Half & Half
Damn.
Depressing as shit. This album made me learn more about Sufjan Stevens (by that i mean looking at his Wikipedia), and i think it makes it more sad.
I love the sound of his vocals on here, it feels different compared to Illinoise. Also, the instrumentals on here feel really simple and "drowned down", but it actually works with the themes on this record.
Best track: either 4th of July or Death with Dignity
Worst (weakest) track: No Shade in the Shadow of the Cross
POWPOWPOWPOWPOW
Westside Gunn's Pray For Paris is really good. I love how he makes collabs that nobody would expect like Joey Badass with Tyler The Creator on 327.
The production is probably the best part of this album. And the adlibs are iconic by now, Westside has some crazy energy while doing them.
Best track: either 327 or Allah Sent Me
Worst (weakest) track: French Toast
Okay, i didnt expect for this to be THAT good.
James Blake is back at it again, and its incredible. The whole album feels robotic and it perfectly fits in with the title. Thats why i dont understand why the track "Hes Been Wonderful" is so low.
The best part of this album has to be the vocals, the second place being the production. James really under utilizes his voice, because there are a few songs that are mostly instrumentals.
Best track: either Loading or I Want You To ... read more
I dont understand why the score is so low.
Its a fun listen honestly. The tracks are short and kinda effective. It has its weird moments, like wtf is "The original was better"? Also, for some reason its censored with a basic ass beep, which kinda drags down the songs.
Teezo can have some great vocal moments, but he mostly stays the same or puts on a weird voice that kinda doesnt fit the tracks.
Best track: either You Thought or Familiarity
Worst track: The original was better
This is just a fun pop album.
A lot of these songs are really nostalgic to me. They are just so simple yet entertaining. Of course, it can sound basic, but honestly, what do you expect from Bruno Mars?
The vocals are good, Bruno really brings some passion to his music. It can be corny at times, but honestly its fun enough to excuse it.
Best track: Count On Me
Worst track: Our First Time
This is my first time listening to Saba and honestly, its alright.
I feel like this album couldve been better. The album covers some sad and dark themes with jazz beats (simillar to TPAB but inferior)
It has some incredible storytelling, and its a shame that the instrumentals just didnt click with me on some tracks. Also, Saba isnt that good at making choruses, they kinda bring these songs down.
Best track: Prom / King
Worst track: either Logout or Smile
Boring. Dream cannot sing for shit. Boring. The beats are boring.
Boring.
This is a solid record.
Elvis J Kurtovich's second studio album that feels slightly emptier than his debut. Dont get me wrong, it has some good songs, but it doesnt have the charm that Mitovi i Legende had.
Elvis has a really good voice, and the instrumentals feel really simmilar, which i dont like. Overall, its alright but not comparable to his previous work.
Best track: Nosila je ljepotu ko prokletstvo
Worst (weakest) track: Ćerka Jedinica
Before i review this, i just want to mention how annoying it was to figure out which track is which, because i wanted to listen to this album on Spotify.
Fuck you Frank.
Anyways, this album is incredible. I didnt listen to the remaster because i think it would take the magic out of the "storage house sounding" echoes that can be heard.
I think my main problem about this album is that the short tracks are really unnecessary. Also, i didnt expect Sampha to be on this, why didnt HE ... read more
This is just Krive Karte but worse.
It has some unique ideas, but the beat sounds like a fucking ringtone. I like some parts of it, but i dont understand why you would listen to this when you have the superior Krive Karte.
The only reason i decided to listen to Coldplay is because i have nostalgia towards some songs, so i may be bias towards some songs.
This album has some REALLY high highs like Clocks, but most of the tracks feel so goddamn repetitive. Like, every song sounds the same and most of them are like 5 minutes.
The production is great, but once again get boring in the latter half. So overall, it couldve been greater, but for now its just alright.
Best track: Clocks
Worst (weakest) track: Green Eyes
Its close to the quality of WYWH but it isnt better.
Great album. I didnt expect to like a song that is almost 20 minutes long (since i usually dont like my tracks to be longer than 10 minutes).
The guitars are the best part of this record. The incredible solos that just make me want to ascend. The vocals are just like on any other Pink Floyd album, and i wanted more of them honestly.
Best track: Dogs
Worst (weakest) track: Pigs on the Wing Pt 1
