(The very-much belated finale to my "Reviewing every Album I've given a 10/10" saga because I lowkey forgot to review it back when I was doing that).
Obligatory "Fuck R. Kelly" and all that, and if we're being completely objective, this project is complete dogshit past the very first chapter (And even then, Chapter 1 isn't that objectiely good). It's repetive, it's poorly written, reusing the same instrumental over and over is incredibly ... read more
A very last-minute personal AOTY contendor, and a damn good albym to end the year on. My first Yeule album, and yeah this shit fucks so unbelievably hard. Feels like a more gritty and gloomy take on something like a Magdelena Bay album, with a hint of prime Gorillaz in there as well, and I just love that sound goes for it. It's insanely catchy and hypnotic, but in a subdued, less in-your-face way compared to other pop music. It's also just a really well writen album, managing to be highly emotionally resonate underneath the layers of apathy and dejection. It's a ... read more
