Bob Dylan has such a strange way of singing and writing songs and I can understand the person who is absolutely mesmerized by everything this album throws at you, but I had qualms with it. Half of this album sounds like it’s supposed to be bad. 100 gecs’ music has always been pretty out there and I’ve respected it a lot for that, but the stretch of songs from frog on the floor to I got my tooth removed could probably be considered the worst stretch of songs I’ve ever heard from an artist I like. I was expecting more from the album based on the songs I had heard but it’s honestly not super consistent and it can be pretty annoying at times. There are very few songs on here that I have zero gripes with. I’ve never heard an album quite like this one and its unique qualities led to an interesting first listen. On one hand this album did have to grow on me a bit, but it also remained very distinct in my head, and it scratches an itch that nothing else really can.
