Kota the Friend - Foto
75

Kota really shines on a few tracks yet the rest of the album fades into the back of your mind, never to be seen or heard again. Overall a decent album that is propelled by a few gems in the rough.

Best songs: sedona, chicago diner, backyard, bagels, solar return

Eh songs: pretty much everything else

Gateway Drugs - Magick Spells
82

Magick Spells is terrifying. Gateway Drugs enlists noise rock and psychedelic sounds to provoke addicting carnal horror. Haunting vocals and heavily distorted guitar with almost psychedelic riffs weave a fascinating story. Overall a must listen album from a criminally overlooked band. only negative is that it can be a somewhat slow listen but that is overshadowed by the overall competence of the songs.

Each song is so unique and listening to this album never gets boring. This album is a compelling and complete journey through genres and emotions and ... read more

Men I Trust - Oncle Jazz

One of the best albums of the year... but it's just too long. It has really high peaks but a lot of the tracks are just not memorable enough to justify their place on the album.
