Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
75

Probably Kendrick’s most thematically effective, complex and profound album, but at points has some really underwhelming production and needless pop pivots.

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
70

Definitely not his strongest- the production is a nice pivot but at points feels really thin and dispassionate. I appreciate how isolated each song is but I really think it would have hit harder if it was more thematically cohesive

Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
65

More disparate and lo-fi than I remember, but still full of amazing ideas and performances, even if they’re barely packaged at all

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
65

Some great instrumental and lyrical highlights on here but they sit alongside a lot of very despondent, meditative moments that too often dip into being boring or bland

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
99

100% the culmination of his first two studio albums thematically and musically. I do wish that we got more time with just Kendrick, I think that would make it feel a little more intimate, but the amount of hands on this album is generally a strength so I can’t criticise too much

xaviersobased - Xavier
75

A solid offering from xav, but the single had me hoping for some more forward thinking stuff that I think he's capable of

EDIT 10/02/26: this has grown on me a lot, Xavier has great beat selection and pretty engaging rapping. I do think that this is a little bloated and poorly sequenced

fakemink - The Boy who cried Terrified .
75

For a few of b-sides this is pretty great- I hope this implies that the album will be more versatile and better mixed haha. Some flat moments but it's nice that mink's personality still shines through
