This might be the saddest album I've ever heard. It captures ageing at its worst. Berman's friends, his wife, his mum - everyone he thought he could depend on for unconditional love - are all gone, leaving him feeling alone in the world. It's a very real thing and a thing that a lot of people go through. Something we a society needs to reckon with more and actually try to respond to. This could be any of us, and would you really want to keep on living?
