Tha God Fahim - Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 5
72

Best sampling but the rapping feels repetitive. I love when he elevates his flows which is the exact thing that is missing on this record. The best songs are the last 2.

Hardest worker ever. This guy is literally arch-Carti but 10x better. I’m not trying to glaze but he has the early Kanye sampling style but it still sounds new and fresh. I can’t say enough this man has unreal quantity mixed with unmatched quality. The best song is either the first. I’m not saying this is the greatest piece of work ever, but for his output this is crazy.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition

Atrocity exhibition
Overall: 8.4/10

Album Cover: 9/10

Notes:
I see why people like this but this album is just not for me. It is completely B grade

Best: Ain’t it Funny or Really Doe

Worst: Golddust

Best Feat: Ab-soul on Really Doe

Best Production: Lost

Downward Spiral: 7.3/10
Interesting composition. The beat is mediocre but his voice in this track really brings it down because it doesn’t fit the simple beat well

Tell Me What I Don’t Know: 8.4/10

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale
80

I have already posted the og review. This deluxe adds enough songs to be its own album, but I fail to see how it adds anything new, to the success story. Especially now when we have Chromakopia, the trite “big money big fame” rapping stereotype is old. I think it is just complete filler and full of unused tracks that didn’t make the first cut.

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
84

The least relatable Tyler project. He is just rapping about the lifestyle now that he has made it. I think is the first decline in his artistry since releasing Wolf. His rapping ability is definitely improved and more of a forefront especially after it served less use in Igor. The best song is Hot Wind Blows. Unpopular opinion, I really don’t enjoy the double song on this album. I understand why people like it, but to me it is just filler and overrated.

Saba & No I.D. - From the Private Collection of Saba and No I.D.
81

2 year wait for saba to lock in and rap his ass off. Some beautiful No ID beats that sound like that one ratatouille scene fill out where his performance dips. My high expectations were definitely met. The best songs are the first and last tracks.

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
79

Pretty good. I was getting nervous that it would get repetitive in the second half, but I don’t think it was bad. The first 5 tracks were all the best ones and after it was definitely a quality drop.

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU: DIRECTOR'S CUT
79

Obviously you have the og review and this is now for the directors cut. The quality drops maybe 2-3%, but it is still very good. The best song is the track with Denzel Curry. Additionally, Peggy is way more experimental on the later tracks. In one sentence, directors cut adds new ideas and angles but suffers a slight decline in quality.

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
80

My first rating didn’t go through. I love the production on this album and taking simple samples and dissecting them into complex pieces. It makes it sound like there is a beat switch every second which matches Peggy’s energy on each track. The best is the second song.

Playboi Carti - MUSIC

I am music

Best: Good Credit
Worst: Opium Babi

Best feature: Kendrick

Overall: 7/10

Main Notes:
Filler but has quality when he actually puts his mind to making a good song. Who woulda thought

Pop out: 6/10
Idc what people say this song is ass. It lowkey had me scared I would have to listen to this for 29 more songs.

Crush: 8/10
It was posted on his ig, or at least snippet of it. This song is alright and I just got to listen to playboi carti embark on a blow dart assassin career. The ... read more

Kanye West - Graduation
97

His best album and an album I would not bat on if someone said it is their number one. The best songs are flashing lights or homecoming. The most impactful for me is I wonder. Shit just makes you tear up thinking about how it was. The worst is drunk and hot girls, but I think it is overhated. The only reason it gets so much criticism is because it makes this a debatable perfect album when it would be undebatable if left out. Good life is the best song when you are working out. I would play that ... read more

Tha God Fahim & Mach-Hommy - Notorious Dump Legends: Volume 2
72

Album Cover: 7/10

Notes: some good tracks but mostly filler and the skits (even tho I don’t rate them) are trash. First Mach project I think is just average to below average. The first half is way worse than the second.

Pissy Hästens: 6.7/10
Basic beat basic song. Just a bland song from Mach hommy

Bad Hands: 7.4/10
Better beat. Basic rapping throughout. The internal rhymes make this a little bit better.

From Valisburg to Vaudeville: 7.2/10

Album Cover: 3/10 🤮

Songs:
Grease: 8/10
Pretty good intro

Honey Roasted: 8.4/10
Best or second best song

Open Sesame: 7.8/10
Kinda just a filler track

Apple Juice: 9/10
Song that got to my 3rd playlist which means it has replay value for at least a year

Be Safe: No Bueno
It is so random and the only time I think the more screechy beat is annoying

Regina: 7.6/10
It’s just ok but a beat switch could make it very Beat gets bland after a bit

JID - The Forever Story
89

My favorite songs are radar or Dance Now. Best beat is Kody Blu 31. JID in his follow up album displays his flow and control. As the forefront of flows he does lay down bars that are aoty worthy. Not my favorite album from him (DiCaprio 2). Crack Sandwich has such good storytelling. It is like you are the therapists and listening to him confess what it was like growing up. Also rhyming together entire lines reminds me of MF Doom, I can see the inspiration.

Kanye West - Late Registration
90

Even with Ye’s current state, this album is damn near perfect. From the harmony poured out during Late to Diamonds from Sierra Leone, my favorite track, this is the best Kanye did at using the human voice to make a beat. I don’t think I need to justify the score.

Vince Staples - Dark Times
89

Vince staples continues strong with the most slept on discography. He lowkey brings back some big fish theory beats while adding some new taste which is good for any album. His ability to control the beat with his voice remains his best quality and this is my aoty(maybe blue lips of JPEGs is tied). The best songs are Little Homies and Black & Blue. This is a must listen.

Freddie Gibbs - ESGN - Evil Seeds Grow Naturally
65

Album is just alr. However, every song on this album is extremely hype. Just not a lot of substance besides yell loud and crunk. Best song is Certified Live or The last track. If you are beginning to listen to Freddie Gibbs pick a different album, like Alfredo or Piñata.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo
90

Extreme production and harmonious guitars. Used bass, electric, and acoustic to blend multiple style with a complimentary flow. Love the first song it might be up in the top 3. Something to rap about is probably numero 1. Love the religious songs. Scottie beam is so good. That piano and the sample. Rick Ross just eats up featured songs for some reason (as long as it isn’t UEONO). His story telling is just amazing. The alchemist once again cooked, ate, and left no crumbs. I don’t ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - You Only Die 1nce
79

Sick album cover

The first song is hype. Just raw output. He got that 2000s Nelly flow. Bruh this prince of darkness shit to funny. Introduces the devil as someone trying to get him.

*Accidentally when out of order this is ruthless* Love the beat. I’m a sucker for someone who uses vocal to construct a beat. Spitting bars and smooth consistent flow. His biggest weakness is he can’t change flows as effectively on this track which makes it feel redundant at some point.

Sorry I ... read more
