the lyrics could be better but its not C4 level bad (looking at you phone home) its just mediocre lyrics

its decent but all the tracks kind of feel the same other than maybe colors and levels
i really like the beat switch/beat shift in levels, probably my favorite song from this
overall its decent and im excited to see what chenayder does in the future but i feel like variety is really important when youre making an ep and this kind of lacks that

i love the guitars on this album so muchhhhh especially on helmet and mercury, they have a very certain vibe to them, maybe its a chorus or a phaser or smth idk guitar pedals very well

my only real problem with it is that cody freestyle is a little eh and its kinda short, 35 minutes is kind of short for an album

its nothing incredible like tpab or damn but its good
what i see this album as is kendrick trying to say that he doesnt need to be philosophical to make a good album, which i agree with
it is definitely alot different than his previous albums, which i dont really care that much about, i dont expect all of an artist's albums to be the same style
gnx is definitely the odd one out on this album

it has a few good songs on it like west coast wu tang, compton chemistry and bitch im in the club (greatest song ever made) but it also has a few songs that arent amazing, welcome to c4 lasts way too long imo, famous pipe game wouldve been good if kendrick took it seriously, overall this mixtape is definitely not kendrick's best from this era, i would much rather listen to the kendrick lamar ep but thats just me 🤷
