Re-review again, it’s a very remarkable and consistent pop punk album like have mentioned and still remains one of my favorite albums of all time. It’s immature themes, hooky riffs, and the drumming from Barker all works together in unison so well and that’s what sells this album in my opinion
This album is what got me into Porter Robinsons music. After my brother showed me his music I decided to pick up SMILE on CD. And lemme tell you it was a great choice. Behind all the sugary, and high-paced beats in songs like Russian Roulette and Cheerleader and as Perfect Pinterest Garden, lies much deeper meaning that makes this album feel less of a hyperPop album made to please the ears and more a HyperPop album made to please the ears but with honest lyrics and tones that paint the picture ... read more
Dawn FM is the secound installment In the weeknds final project which is a trilogy between After Hours and Hurry Up Tomorrow. While I do think the latter half of this album is lacking and carryed by songs such as Is There Someone Else? and Don't Break My Heart I do think it's one of the best flowing albums.
I didn't realize how good this album is. This album is pure generational run. This whole album is an easy listen but not to easy. The bending of RnB into Rap creates a balanced album with the title track having both genres. My only complaint about this album is that some songs sound like they are made in a company board meeting. Specifically Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears.
