this album is okay. i'd say the lyrics are uninteresting and the drill drums are a bit excessive. i'd save up some space for something else.
I don't get the appeal. I've only listened to it halfway through a couple times so it makes sense though. I kind of liked her most recent, but i find her vocal's to be mostly annoying. I just wanna listen to the instrumental, but it's interupted by very melodramatic and poppy vocals that are mixed way too loud. This is Lou's best songwriting by far. I'm not that big of a fan of some of the instrumental choices. i think moe should've been more involved and that string bending sound on jesus and pale blue eyes is pretty annoying to me. this album got me through some psychologically horrifying times in my life and now i'm sick of it
This album pretty insane for how much none of the band members seem to have their heart in it. lou and moe had left and i'm not even sure how much of the velvet underground this album actually is. It's seems like it was mostly producers that controlled the process and made a pop album with whatever this group had to offer at the time. the deluxe versions are also a lot better because they have ride into the sun and ocean which are mentally healing songs
