a perfect and utterly distraught, crushing, ruining record drenched in fear of death, steeped in depressive thoughts and sickness. this record came about when his father struggled with cancer, and this record is an eerie confrontation with mortality in the form of an increasingly unnerving and terrifying folk inspired, noisy, experimental rock record
Sleep Token is a band that not only has been absolutely genre-defining and groundbreaking with their direction, but also are some of the best musicians we have in the genre. This deserves the popularity and love it is receiving in every way and more.
This album is in my opinion their best work yet, and i am beyond excited for the band's material, having listened since Sundowning.
One of the darkest albums I've ever heard and a must listen in general. This record time and time again proves itself to be a soul crushing and mind-blowingly phenomenal record.
one of the best prog metal albums to date imo. extremely fresh, vessel has one of the greatest voices and most unique in the genre and with his soulful and powerful energy, it brings an amazing sound that unmatched by any other band i know. if i could describe this record in one word, it'd be FLAVOR
it's poppy, but dark and heavy as hell
such a cool direction for the whole genre. two years after hearing the record for the first time i still think it's one of the best in the genre for sure
this is an incredibly exciting record, it shows a completely new direction for the band in it's very prog metal oriented, dream theater esque structure, flow, and songwriting
this album delves in a lot of unique soundscapes and ideas, all of which are executed extremely well and introduced immaculately on the opening titular track The Stage, but carrying into Paradigm, Sunny Disposition, and further increasing this experimentation and ventures into the very Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix ... read more
I enjoyed this record, was it their best yet though?
Yes. Absolutely.
That being said, it's not as cohesive as a full record and some of the tracks especially later on feel nowhere near as polished.
Still very much loved the singles.
LMAO what do i even say about this album i mean
i literally
have no fuckin idea
it is one of the albums of all time
production just randomly took a huge nosedive after Viva Las Vengeance and it is
ungodly awkward
especially Middle Of A Breakup omlll
just a great, fun pop album through and through, as a huge critic of "fun pop albums"
absolutely, absolutely perfect. perfect for the game, which is also an incredible representation of mental illness while being both horrifying and beautiful at the same time
