BRUIT ≤ - The Age of Ephemerality
90

LAST REVIEW, 2025 SPECIAL.

The way the band blends classical, electronic and post-rock elements is simply incredible. Each track is a cohesive and NOT BORING composition, with diverse layers of instruments and patterns. I've never heard anything like it before.

However The Age of Ephemerality isn't just a record, it's something more. The album allowed me to reflect deeply not only my life, but on everything in the world right now.

This year has been difficult, yet wonderful ... read more

Wolves At The Gate - Captors

Captors surprised me by straightforward Christian lyrics. You can't help but notice band's beliefs here. Otherwise this record is decent work.

FAVORITE: Awaken, The Harvest, Step Out To The Water, Safeguards.

Wolves At The Gate - Types & Shadows

The band's sound changed slightly and the lyrics became less direct. While the previous VxV was a kind of obvious preachcore, Types & Shadows approached Christian issues from a different angle.

In my opinion the guys are better at calm post-rock moments, but for some reason they try to complicate the perception of the songs with the same type of “complicated” structures.

Not a bad record, technically it's an average post-hardcore/metalcore album.

Wolves At The Gate - VxV
65

Why is it that when bands sing about anarchy, hatred and militant atheism no one raises any questions, but when someone delivers direct Christian messages most people get annoyed? Hypocrites.

VxV itself isn't bad, if a bit monotonous; it could have been much better. But overall, it's OK.

FAVORITE: Dust to Dust, Wake Up.

Wolves At The Gate - Eclipse
65

It's not like WATG ever sounded anything special before, but with this album the guys became one of the typical hardcore bands.

Eclipse isn't bad (maybe even good), but there are a lot of similar albums and I just found it boring to listen to.

FAVORITE: History, Face to Face.

Our Mirage - Unseen Relations
60

On this album the band continued to do the same things like on their debut, but didn't reach the same level.

Perhaps it's just my opinion, but Our Mirage have lost their shape here. Unseen Relations is duller and weaker than its predecessor, and feels like a mid-of-the-mids in its genre.

FAVORITE: Unseen, My Last Day.
