U is better than Wallsocket, SORRY NOT SORRY
although U's been out for less than a week, i can't help but adore this project in its entirety.
on first listen i was very impressed but a little unsure if these songs top her other works. and after listening non stop i've come to appreciate this album is a similar way i felt with hypochondriac when it first released.
what i believe shines most here is underscores mixing. ... read more

My Ghosts Go Ghost by By Storm has just released under deadAir.
for those unaware, By Storm is a duo composed of both Parker Corey and RiTchie, the surviving members of the trio, Injury Reserve following the death of Stepa J. Groggs.
all of these tracks are beautiful. i can't talk about all of them here, but my favourites are Zig Zag and GGG.
RiTchie's vocals and Corey's production made me ... read more

don toliver keeps making amazing songs and is unable to actually make a coherent album. it's not even disappointing atp because i've just come to expect him to throw shit at the wall until it sticks. the songs are cool on their own but listening to this as an album is exhausting and barely gives you a moment to breathe, going to hear these songs for a week until they disappear

some of fakemink's best music yet, gets a bit repetitive towards the end but young millionare and dumb are both fucking crazy. i thought he was kind of overrated but if he keeps going for this sound i can see the album being insanely good, going to listen to this a lot more

im going to need to listen to this a good bit more to properly get it. some of these songs are really beautiful but i cant write anything on this without just being ignorant rn

really cool ideas and atmosphere but a lot of the vocals are bad and the lyrics are really crammed in throughout. some of the songs are good but there's nothing amazing on this record, im going to keep up with their releases because i think there's some crazy potential here but for now styxvii only shows cool ideas but hasnt got the execution quite right

i think i just don't get it yet, sounds like mc virgins if they had great production. some of these songs are great and im happy to ignore the corny lyricism because its just the style but listening to this in full is kind of boring and id much rather have these songs come up in my liked

don't know why it took me so long to listen to this fully, i love creative and his ideas. creative and raf work together really well and are amazing at creating great hooks. every song is so catchy and has been stuck in my head atleast once. im hoping the duo is able to make slightly better verses though, they sound decent but some of the transitions between choruses to verses felt a bit jarring. i do love both of them though and i think a blow up is due soon

tired of this sound, it's too oversaturated. poppy has shown some really cool ideas before and there have been some on this record too but this is mostly pretty boring and runs on for too long with little to no variation. i haven't thought about this record a single time after listening to it in a positive light and i'm a bit disappointed considering that i liked some of her older music.

as somebody who adored IWASVERYBAD i was really hyped for this. the pusha t single seemed a bit weak but i was still expecting a very solid rap record. this really did nothing for me, idk is talented enough to make sure this wasn't actually shit, but a lot of these songs felt pointless. even with his previous mixtape, iwvb, i thought it was sentimental although the sound wasn't the best. it felt like it had a bit of passion behind it, this record just came off as ... read more

i dont even know what to think of this, as a fan im disappointed but at the same time im glad this means that rocky is going to come back to making music consistently (i hope). listening to this the friday it came out felt like shooting myself in the leg, features that seemed forced in and rushed together. hearing mentions of him working on some of these songs the week before they came out, now knowing that this was made in a year. the entire thing seems so unprofessional ... read more

genuinely amazing and underrated, i really never expected a cavetown record to make me smile like this one has. its just dumb fun with amazing production and some really gorgeous singing. i'm gonna check out more of his music later and probs write something more fleshed out for this. i just love this record and all the songs are so cute

recommended to me by a friend, genuinely really cool sounds and i really like joeyy's voice on this. i just dont understand why this was released though, its a cool snippet of what he's able to do but i feel like there's no real reason for this to be out. even only being 13 minutes it feels like its running out of ideas and i think joeyy should've just took a bit more time to make something more fleshed out

first three songs were okay, was expecting this to be like a 70. rice:beans is like one of the worst songs ive ever heard and the long tracks did nothing to help me not hate this. this was one of those projects that made me feel nauseous and made me tired of music for a bit. sounds aren't that interesting and are just pretty generic and boring loops. the vocals were good on dont stop/cant stop but they only degraded after time. seems like aoty slop bc i think this is ... read more

really liked this at first but as more time passed i realised this isn't really that special, most songs are nice but wwdys doesn't really do anything too crazy with this record. illiterate is actually an amazing song but i cant give this anything higher than a 70 right now, maybe it'll get better with more listens. i think i was just thirsty for a good album this year at first

this is def the kid laroi's most consistent and nicest sound yet, i really appreciate the attempt to make something more vulnerable and not just a best hits album again. however, this album comes off as a bit childish with some really great people behind it. daniel and andrew age'd work on this record is beautiful, the writing and production is miles better than laroi's other work and im glad they worked together, andrew age's production paired with ... read more

not going to suck this album off for too long bc im probably gonna make a video on it, its just crazy to me how influential this is and how it's not more popular. this isn't one of those records that are influential but get outdone later on, mystic stylez TO THIS DAY has songs that aren't out of date, its mental how my fashion, music taste and aesthetic has been influenced by this album and i had no idea about it until i randomly was like Yea fuck it ill ... read more

cool record, my friend maggie told me it was midwest emo and i have a normie perception of the genre so i wasnt expecting something so mellow. the vocals and instrumentation and really easy to listen to, at some points i did wish itd ramp up a little bit and get a little louder but thats just a personal peeve and not a real critique of the album. i just let my preconception affect how i felt about the project, so i'm hoping to come back to this eventually bc its very ... read more

this might be the definition of slop, its just enough to work as background music but darkie and bruhmanegod dont really do that much in terms of vocals. the production is cool and the only highlight of this record imo. lyrics are a bit corny, the singing doesnt work that well, the flows are meh. i would just expect more from two artists i really liked before. also it doesnt rlly do much to change up the memphis sound at all, again, just slop imo. wont inspire anything, not ... read more

it's cool, some really great songs on here and i can only imagine how influential it was for its time. i think at this point there's just been so many projects that have expanded on what big fish theory did for experimental hip hop that i dont really have a reason to listen to this front to back in comparison to other projects. but i still have to give this its flowers, for being released in 2017 this was way ahead of its time and some of these songs still hold up ... read more
