CABALLERO KNIGHT - F8
90

absolutely insane ass beat, and CABALLERO does great here with a much cleaner mix on his vocals than I'm used to. Great track.

WilWith1L - Seattle 2023-24

Great beat selection, the lyrics and vocals tho feel like Tyler/Childish Gambino-esque but missing a lot of the confidence that makes those lyrics work. Does remind me a lot of myself from a few years ago in that way. Lot of potential but could use work.

Ghais Guevara - Maenad
NR

I will say unlike the last single I think I prefer the old mix more here, this still sounds different but a little empty comparatively. Still, excited for the re-release.

Ghais Guevara - Every Tour Date Is A Gatsby Party
NR

As a diehard defender of the original project's mix, this is 100% better. The new mix brings out some background vocals I never caught before, it sounds very clean.

Blood Love - Rocher du Diable
65

Its okay, doesn't leave too much of a lasting impact and some of the instrumentation sounds off in a way that doesn't feel intentional (even if it was) that detracts from the experience. A decent listen but not too memorable.

Well's Dry - The Curse of Choice
60

like most projects in this vein it succedeed at its goal but just wasnt that interesting to me personally. decent enough, just not something that spoke to me.

Sembii - i see, therefore i grieve
80

Some really exciting instrumentals with a style that reminds me a lot of the recent Gao the Arsonist mixtape if it had cleaner mixes and was occasionally more rage inspired. Very hard hitting with a dark gritty atmosphere throughout that works wonders.

Adam Snebold - I Hear A New World
70

Pretty repetitive in places but overall decent beat tape. Wish that the beats had more going on to make them a little more interesting but its decent.

Jake Ryan - EUREKA
90

Really beautiful album of singer-songwriter tracks. Great pianowork throughout, and impactful and heartfelt lyricism that really works great.

observing - Dots
70

Good ideas but the drums are mixed pretty weirdly in a way that makes them sound very thin and cheap. Synths were cool, but the track doesn't really go anywhere. Still a decent listen.

Rimera - TEDDY'S HEADPHONES (VOL II: REAL RIMERA HATER RADIO)
93

Probably the best project I've heard from Rimera thus far it really feels like its drawing a lot less from his influences and forming his own style in a way that is really exciting. Love the very agressive energy of some of the tracks here, sounds great! looking forward to whatever he does next!

quinn - sf44
91

exceedingly well produced with some great rapping throughout.

quinn - SLAPS, Vol. II
90

Very well decent set of tracks, not much else to say about them just good instrumentals and lyrics all around.

slayr - Homerunner
90

beautiful ass song holy slayr just doesn't miss

Vince Staples - White Flag
98

Holy hell its really really good I'm so hyped for the album vince hasn't missed once yet

JPEGMAFIA - EXPERIMENTAL RAP
65

Damn bro I didn't know there was a FOURTH drake album coming out this month!
I hear you saying, dear reader: "this sounds nothing like Drake, you DUMB FUCK!!" And to that I have to ask: are you sure? Vapid, repetitive lyrics talking about how he doesn't care, constant flexing and a strangely consistent degrading of women are constantly present here, in a way that was ignorable/tolerable on his last album but is becoming an obnoxious and incessant theme to his writing. The ... read more

Gao the Arsonist - DEGENERATE
90

very well done mixtape with some of ghais' most hard hitting beats and agressive deliveries yet.

Genesis Owusu - REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE
98

Genesis doing what he always does but this time with much more timely lyrics and theming. Very good overall with great production and witty writing and the worldwide scourge is an AMAZING song just so powerful.

JPEGMAFIA - ¥ (Yen)
90

Finally something weird! This one's really cool, production is very neat even if Peggy is basically still rapping about nothing again

Kenny Mason - BULLDAWG
91

A little inconsistent but very versatile and high energy listen with some great lyricism and flows. Beats are all great too.

"Respect the opinion but I feel like it's a little weird to say whenever ghais does trap it doesn't work out considering his entire career has had major trap influence. Also I'm ngl I don't think I would call any of what hes rapped on before "jazz production" but that's definitely more up for debate."
