Writing this as I'm traveling back to my hometown. This album feels like a modern Odyssey, a tale following Woods as he reflects on his life and his surroundings, the narrative of a touring musician that somehow connects to me in a way i will probably never with any other record. The poetic nature of every verse written for this album is truly amazing, the unorthodox lyricism, the complex rhyme schemes and the vivid storytelling through the tour is consistently some of the best I have ever ... read more
Mind bending. One of the greatest sonic evolutions im hip-hop history, this truly feels like a requiem, a final statement, a punctuation to Injury Reserve's musical and artistc journey. Creativly it's one of the most out there sonic experiences in have ever had while simultaneously being one of the most powerful emotionaly. The production is out of this world, out of this universe, its futristic, distorted, experimental and incomprehensable on so many levels. The sampel usage and ... read more
I whould be a fool not to Review this. My favorite artist of all time: Quadeca, releasing My favorite album of all time. It just makes sense. I have constantly been listening to this LP every since it dropped yet it only took me a single listen to know this was his best work. The instrumental blends that are present on this album are so varied and unlike anything I have ever heard, the floaty woodwind passages, the bright acoustic guitars, the dramatic pianos and absolutely incredible ... read more
Terrifying. This is some serious shit your pants material. Easily in my opinion one of the greatest statements in Noise Rock history. Every single element that conforms this absolute monster of an album makes for the perfect blend sonically, utilizing one of the most shrieking, harrowing and noisy guitar tones I have ever heard in any record period. Deep, trembeling, almost growling bass notes backing up the stellar drumming with some amazing fill and tempo work, and to add even more variety ... read more
Biblically accurate Sprain. I was so happy when I found out that Alex Kent and Sylvie Simmons had re-grouped to form Shearling. This is hands down one if the best albums I have heard from this year. Many of the sonic elements that I loved from Sprain like; the distorted noise rock guitar riffs, the harsh ear piercing noise pieces, the both frantically disjointed and groovy drum work as well as the hair rasingly beautiful string and piano passages were all present in this LP, with also some new ... read more
