Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2
38

The fact that a lot of the songs here were recorded 6 to 8 years ago does not indicate that this album will be any good, and it isn't. Considering the hype and the wait behind this release it is underwhelming given Nicki Minaj's status in the music scene. The songs feel like they adhere to a formula and lack any creativity in them and the production only differs slightly between every track. This album has nothing on the original Pink Friday and it is a shame. It could have easily been great ... read more

THE FUTURE IS MID (DELUXE)

Song ratings:
BUSHIDO: 55
NEGATIVE AND HATING: 35
MIXED UP MUTT: 40
DOOR RIGHT NOW: 25
SORROW: 20
POSITIVE AND PATIENT: 40
THE WAR IS OVER: 40

Conway The Machine & Wun Two - Palermo
43

With the amount of content Conway has put out this year, it's disappointing to see that most of them feel rushed and uninspired. If you've listened to the other Conway albums put out this year you're not missing out on much. The beats aren't bad but they won't blow anybody away. Conway's rapping seems uninterested most of the time and these aspects of the album balance out to make a mediocre listen. 43/100

Nas - Illmatic
94

Nas' first studio album Illmatic might be the best piece of music I've ever heard. Its influence over hip-hop can still be felt today. Every beat is perfect and there are no bars that feel unnecessary to the tracks. There are so many classics to pick from its 40 minute runtime and it's a testament to Nas' lyrical creativity and the dedication when it comes to every detail present in the album. 94/100

Drake & 21 Savage - Her Loss
48

It has some bangers and is actually consistent compared to For All The Dogs. How did drake fuck up this bad. 21 Savage provided needed energy and drake actually seems to be charismatic on here. Travis Scott feature was fire. Although some tracks are lackluster this album proves that if drake puts in the effort, he can make something decent. 48/100

Eminem - Recovery
41

After Relapse received mixed reviews from critics and the public, Eminem needed to make a comeback and steer his career into the right direction. This album is what steering it right onto a brick wall is like. There's no imagination and the vocal yelling present throughout the album sounds like ass. I don't know why Em himself believes that this is album is nothing other than underwhelming. There were only a handful of tracks that I liked and the majority of them are either painfully mediocre ... read more

Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz - Welcome 2 Collegrove
52

The second collaborative album between Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz "Welcome 2 ColleGrove" is better than I expected considering their last album wasn't that good. Some tracks on here are great but it is quite inconsistent across the 57 minute run-time of the album. Oprah & Gayle is my favorite song with brilliant contributions from Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and Benny The Butcher paired with a great beat. Some tracks could do some work but overall, this album is above average. 52/100

Busta Rhymes - BLOCKBUSTA
25

(28 -> 25) The more you listen to this pile of crap the worse it gets. I don't know how Busta Rhymes will ever recover from this.

(Original Review) This album is what happens when you throw shit at the wall and hoping something sticks, but everything fell right back down. Busta Rhymes tries to do everything but ends up making nothing listenable. He never really out-performs the other artists that are featured on this album. Every track sounds bland as fuck and I don't know why does Busta ... read more

Trippie Redd - Saint Michael V2
21

This is straight ass. This is somehow worse than the original "Saint Michael" EP that came out 2 weeks ago. This sounds rushed and there is nothing good I can say about this clown show of an album. Trippie Redd is out of touch with what is considered to be good music. 21/100

Drake - For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition
41

"For All The Dogs Scary Hour Edition" is a reissue of the latest drake album "For All The Dogs". I did not like "For All The Dogs" but maybe the 6 additional tracks will change my mind. They are certainly better than the tracks on the original album so why didn't he use it? It's still bad with drake's quiet and seemingly uninterested tone when he's rapping. The songs might bore me to death, but they don't make me angry. "Stories About My Brother" and ... read more

Danny Brown - Quaranta
80

[80 → 80] Decided to listen to this album again and it mostly still holds up. Although I felt some tracks were less good then I remember some other tracks really has grown on me since my last full listen.

"Quaranta" is a successor to his sophomore record "XXX" and this album feels more serious and conscious about his upbringing and his place in hip hop. In the ... read more

Aesop Rock - Integrated Tech Solutions
70

Aesop Rock's 9th album "Integrated Tech Solutions" is nothing less than good. Despite not being groundbreaking in any way, the sheer consistency in between tracks has to be applauded, there wasn't any single track that was bad but there were some mediocre songs like "Salt and Pepper Squid". However, there are also some brilliant songs, for example, "Vititus" and "Mindful Solutionism". Aesop Rock has a talent of making music about his own personal stories ... read more

Eminem - Relapse: Refill
74

The additional 9 tracks on the Refill Version of Relapse elevate this album with some bangers including "Forever" and "My Darling".

1. Forever: 90
2. Hell Breaks Loose: 85
3. Buffalo Bill: 70
4. Elevator: 75
5. Taking My Ball: 70
6. Music Box: 75
7. Drop The Bomb On 'Em: 60
8. My Darling: 90

Refill Rating: 78/100
Combined Rating: 74/100

Trippie Redd - Saint Michael
35

"SAINT MICHAEL" is a Trippie Redd EP that is what you would expect from Trippie Redd, autotuned voice over trap beats that are way above his paygrade. The only 2 songs that aren't bad are Van Cleef Island and 7am in Ohio, the rest are really bad. Yo Pi'erre Slime is easily the worst track here. I don't hate this EP that much but a lot of it is kinda dogshit. 35/100

The Kid LAROI - THE FIRST TIME
37

The Kid LAROI's debut LP "The First Time" shows that he has the potential of making good music, but he hasn't found himself himself in that position yet. However, this is a massive step up from his last mixtape "FUCK LOVE" which I thought was awful and had little to no artistic direction. This project feels lost and confused about whether it is a rap or a pop album. Despite all of this, there are some glimpses of talent that prove he has the potential of making a decent ... read more

Eminem - Relapse
78

(Edit): [71 → 78] Certified classic

"Relapse" is Eminem's 5th Studio album that was released in May of 2009 following a 5 year hiatus from making solo records after his "Encore" album failed to deliver upon his 4 album run and was generally bad and lackluster. After Proof's death in 2006 Eminem fell into a spiral of drug addictions that would eventually lead to his drug overdose in 2007. Many thought that he would not make another record again, but in 2008 ... read more

Drake - For All The Dogs
39

(Edit²): [42 → 39] I listened to Her loss and then listened to this again, the difference between them is massive.

(Edit): [55 → 42] After listening to this album a few more times it did not grow on me, it instead felt worse than what I thought it was on my first few listens. I spotted way more corny bars and Drake seems uninterested in rapping in most of the songs in this album.

(Original review) Boring, Stale and Mid.
