Kanye West - The College Dropout
82

Before this, Kanye wasn't known as a rapper, if anybody knew him, it was for his incredible beat making skills, so for his first rap album, how would it fare? For a debut project, it ticks every box for it being a classic. After 20 years since it released, the sound doesn't feel outdated, every production choice takes this album levels above the rest. Coupled with some great features and you have a masterpiece, only if the album wasn't so rough around the edges, but that can be ... read more

Grifters gonna grift amirite?

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
73

Solid songs throughout, too bad for an album that tries to be ambitious, it lacks any real cohesive concept and the tracks don't feel connected at all. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, they are still good, but I can't resonate with them at all. As usual for a Schoolboy Q album, the beats are amazing on nearly every song. Unlike most of his discography though, nothing here screams banger, which is a shame because that's what he is most known for. But the lyrics are quite ... read more

Future - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU
59

The first disc is just leftovers from the first We Don't Trust You album, which are meh at best. However the second disk really carries this album, especially the A$AP Rocky feature, I find it even better than We Don't Trust You.

Disk 1 rating: 55/100
Disk 2 rating: 68/100
Combined rating: 59/100

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
63

This album is really hit or miss,. Future never does anything that impresses me. If it wasn't for the great production, I wouldn't rate this album highly at all. Features are lit though. 63/100

Chief Keef - Almighty So 2
66

Chief Keef drops a set of solid tracks to make a decent album, too bad it took a few decades of waiting to get there. The songs are quite formulaic and end up sounding similar to each other but that doesn't detract from the listening experience. 66/100

Childish Gambino - Bando Stone and The New World
67

Every song here is like rolling a dice, you may get something good, or you get something bad. It's quite inconsistent at times and suffers from bad features that let the album down. But otherwise, it's quite good actually, production is solid and Childish Gambino's singing is good and his rapping is decent. Can't really complain a lot. 67/100

Rich The Kid - Life's A Gamble

This😴album😴is😴like😴taking😴melatonin

How do you get bodied by a washed up Kanye West twice on the same album? Getting carried by features left and right is embarrassing, well at least I have something to add to my sleep Playlist. 😴/100

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
72

Every aspect of this album is solid, The lyrics, features, production, hooks, flows. But it's not outstanding by any means. I like it though. 72/100

They replaced Kanye with a clone

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
53

(EDIT¹): [61 → 53] Listening back, I realized that the first half of the album is just ass. Eminem doesn't understand Slim Shady and what made him popular, he can't recapture the lighting in the bottle moment that made him a household name. As much as he tries, the Slim Shady persona falls flat on its face, even after killing him off, he still had that Slim Shady arrogant attitude in Bad One and Tobey, which slightly derails the concept aspect of the album, but the back-end ... read more

(EDIT¹): [64 → 50] I may have over-rated this, but it still isn't as bad as most people think it is, it's just serviceable enough to not be repulsive to listen to, it has its standout tracks, but those are quite rare to see here.

Kanye West manages to not suck complete dick throughout this album, and Ty is good on here? I had no expectations for this album to be anything other than a dumpster fire. I am mistaken, I should not have judged the saint of music Kanye West so ... read more

Kid Cudi - INSANO
38

Kid Cudi has officially fallen off. I slept whilst listening to this shit, how is this coming from the same guy that made Kids See Ghosts. Not even the two Travis Scott features could save this album. The production is more stale than gas station sushi, and both of them will give you chronic illness. Nothing on here makes me go "WOW" and the fucking X feature is insane, it's not even unreleased. The only compliment I can give to this album is that it is at least consistent in terms of ... read more

21 Savage - american dream
62

american dream is the sixth album made by 21 Savage. (21) Most of the features deliver impressive contributions to the tracks. (21) The production is what you'd expect from Metro, they're great but slightly underwhelming compared to previous efforts. (21) For the rest of the songs it is either a hit or a massive miss, there are a lot of corny bars on here. (21) But for the tracks that don't suck, they usually are really good. (21) These 2 aspects counter each other to make a mildly good listen. ... read more

Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine & The Alchemist - Hall & Nash 2: The Original Version
62

Westside Gunn with The Alchemist is a guaranteed hit. The beats in here are fucking amazing. Westside Gunn could have done better but he still delivers some good bars. Conway the Machine should just take a break cause he has been dropping some lackluster performances lately and he gets washed on this album. I didn't feel like any of the tracks were bad and there are some bangers in here that elevate this album. Some things could've been improved upon but that doesn't detract from it being a ... read more

The Game & Big Hit - Paisley Dreams
40

The Game has no game. The only thing making this album not suck is the production which I like. Other than that, there is no redeemable quality about this, The Game is out of his depth and his rapping style is dated. There are some highlights but in general, the rapping itself is nothing special. There is little variation between tracks and they all feel similar to listen to. If you're a hardcore Game fan, you might like this but I found it to be painfully average and borderline bad. 40/100

Eminem - Revival
29

I still don't know how Eminem fucked this one up. His last album MMLP2 was a relative success and received critical acclaim. And he followed that up with this pile of shit. How can one regarded as the goat drop a record this awful. First of all, the mixing is badly done, especially on the hook of Believe. Some of the tracks sound like they came straight from Recovery which was 7 years old at the time. In Your Head sounds like a bad MMLP2 leftover but it is still one of the least bad songs here. ... read more

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
71

(EDIT¹): [68 → 71] It's really good actually, but K-POP still sucks.

Coming off of a 5 year hiatus from his last album ASTROWORLD and the tragedy that happened in his concert. Travis Scott has to make a strong impact on general opinion for his next album, and it does exactly that. The production here is generally amazing, but some tracks don't fit in that category. For the most part, Travis' lyrics are decent and the features here do make an impression. But the ... read more
