Way better than "X", but still far from a good album. The production carries every single track and Ken Carson seems like he doesn't even try to write decent lyrics or come up with flows that don't fall apart every 2 bars. I don't get the appeal.
"FAT D" got so overhyped to the point that I, as a non-Drake fan, am disappointed. Rapping is definitely Drake's best aspect while the singing on this album is boring, bland, tasteless and cringey. When Drake uses his vocal chords, it feels like I'm listening to him in slow motion and I mean that in the worst way possible. The longer this 23 track project went on, the more he lost me. The fact Doja Cat tries everything she can to come over as 'quirky' on this album makes it even worse. Horrible deliveries, awful layering, insanely boring hooks and insubstantial lyrics don't help her case either. "Where's Roddy Ricch? Put you in a box." might be the worst bar I've heard all year. I regret every single choice ... read more
A classic Drake album with incredible highs but also some tracks that have aged badly, especially the beats. Happy 10 year anniversary to NWTS!
