This is definitely the hardest album to date. Some of the instruments get lost with the distortion and production. I had to listen to this album a few times to really hear everything. I would still recommend this album to anyone. Great band.
I think this album has the most interesting riffs of all of their albums. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this album (which I would categorize as their first since I believe it’s the first one with Jonny singing).
Solid album overall. The opening track leading into the second song is awesome. Jenny is one of their best songs. Great second album from this band.
These guys should be bigger than they are. I love when bands can do upbeat, hard songs just as well as slower songs. I love the transitions between songs and every song is great. Highly recommend.
This album really showcases the musical talent of each of the band members. Danny Carey is a freak of nature on drums. There are times where I really don’t understand how they are playing together with the time signature and rhythm. Great album.
This rating could possibly go up in the future since the more I listen to this album the more I like it. I would say it’s not quite as good as Aenima or Lateralus, but it’s hard to make better music than those albums, even if you are Tool.
I’ve always loved this album. It’s fun. It’s catchy. There are no times on the album where I feel compelled to skip past certain songs or parts. Overall a solid B to B+ album.
While I like some of the songs on this album as much or better than some on Carnavas, overall it is just slightly below their previous album. Still a killer album though.
Every song on this album is great. I always forget how much I like these guys, but now that I listened to this album, I’ll be on a Silversun listening trend for the next few weeks.
I love how the guitars fit together in The Strokes’ songs. So catchy and interesting to listen to. Love it!
Of course The Freshmen is a great song, but there are other gems on here as well like Photograph and Myself. Solid album.
This is such a fun, catchy album. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and is a joy to listen to. Closer is Better Than Ezra’s best song ever. I wish more people had heard and understood it.
This album does not get the recognition it deserves. All of the songs are excellent. Overall, it’s a better album than Deluxe.
After Neon Ballroom and Diorama, I was looking forward to what Silverchair would do next. I was expecting crazy orchestral arrangements mixed with guitar riffs. The first part of this album was excellent, but the second half sort of blends together. My favorites are If You Keep Losing Sleep (crazy orchestral song I was hoping for) and Those Thieving Birds (I love the changes in the song).
Although probably their most well known album (at least in the United States), it’s not their strongest. Yes, they were 15. I believe I heard that the record label wanted to hurry and get an album made to ride the popularity of the grunge movement. There are still some awesome songs on here. Israels Son has such a great bass riff. Overall, the album is pretty on par with a lot of other grunge albums of the time.
This album is very solid. I think it is similar to Frog Stomp overall. However, you can see the growth from their first album to this one. Frog Stomp has always seemed very simplistic and rushed to me where this one seems like they had more time to hone their sound. The guitars hit harder and are more memorable IMO.
This album is the pinnacle of Silverchair. Anas Song, Emotion Sickness, Miss You Love. The songs are full of emotion and the album is the perfect mix of angsty rock and orchestral experimental music they showcase on their next album.
I was always a huge fan of Silverchair and was extremely excited for this album to come out. I remember picking this album up and putting it in my cd player. Not at all what I was expecting. I remember thinking “what in the world happened here?!” However, after getting over the initial shock, I realized how “massive” these songs were. I love the full orchestra and use of instruments. It’s not every day you hear a harpsichord used on an album. One of my all time ... read more
