Swoon ultimately delivers the exact same results as its predecessor mostly because it's written in nearly the exact same way. The problem all along for the Silversun Pickups isn't that they sound too much like the Smashing Pumpkins. They just sound way too much like themselves.

Swooning me with your banger tunes

God damn, this is fucking great. It was hard to beat their debut but this might’ve accomplished that. So many amazing songs, really consistent and it’s everything I could ask for from SP. It’s just as if they expanded on the sound of that record, which I’m completely more than fine with. Panic Switch has the sexiest bass line on planet earth. Like god damn. One of the highlights from the 2000s indie rock scene and a fantastic LP overall. Some ideas get regurgitated and become too repetitive, but overall it’s an improvement on their already impressive debut - I’m surprised Silversun Pickups don’t get more traction considering how well their early releases have aged.

An indie rock favourite of mine

my car broke down while I was listening to this so that sucks, but it's just as good as the debut. These guys just have a knack for really great songwriting and guitar tones and stuff. This album has the absolute standout track Panic Switch, my favorite song by them. The bassline is insane, and the chorus is so cacophonus and hits so hard. But I also really liked Substitution, that had a great chorus. Pretty strong!
