Megalithic Symphony engages the ear from moment to moment and allows Aaron Bruno to try out a variety of ideas, many of them half-baked, but all of them entertaining.

Megalithic Symphony succeeds by making a positive of its esoteric oddity, shamelessly coming on by turns like a malfunctioning android Hall & Oates (Guilty Filthy Soul), a goth Linkin Park (Soul Wars), an electro pop-metal Beatlemania (Burn it Down), a torch ballad by the winner of the Venusian X-Factor (All I Need) and a mutant amalgam of Pendulum and Len (Wake Up).

If the goal is to conquer the world with cleverly disguised mainstream rock, then Bruno might have success on his hands. But nothing on Megalithic Symphony is dangerous or challenging or original.

Sadly while I would consider it a decent enough song — certainly a better attempt at blaring ... read more
