A lo-fi, indie/shoegaze vibe that sometimes works really well and other times sounds a bit cheap, especially in the drums department with the same cymbal crashing over and over. The guitars and pretty darn lovely, though. This is definitely something worth enjoying in the background rather than as a main focus but it does that job pretty well.
Some good alt-country vibes on display here. Silky vocals paired with a pretty traditional Americana backing. Lyrical content is good and some of the vocal harmonies are just angelic. It's a pretty good time
Some pretty good prog paired with some pretty mid prog. If they cut some of the more mediocre tracks and released a 45 minute album, we would have a much higher rating in our hands
The songs themselves aren't that bad. Some areas are really good. But the clapping drives me up the wall
The actual compilation is superb. The tracks on display are arguably Wargasm's best. However, this compilation is only available on vinyl. And the pressing quality is fucking awful to the point where I can hear the vinyl roar more than the music in some parts.
I actually respect that they released an offcuts EP rather than a deluxe version of the record. It proves that whilst these songs may not have made the cut for the main album, they are actually decent enough to stand on their own. Granted, this is not as good as their full-length release, but it's pretty good
It may not be my personal favourite Steely Dan album, but Aja is a classic for a reason. Funky in the right places, polished perfectly. It's a vibe that you really don't get in modern music.
Pretty good Groove Metal album. Highlight for me is Redneck: one of the hardest songs to ever be released. But there's still plenty more to enjoy here
Pretty good Shoegaze on display here. Some very big and fuzzy hooks that I enjoyed with a very traditional Shoegaze vocal style.
Lowlife Princess sees Bibi aim for a darker tone than some of her previous releases with some excursions into pop and heavier R&B. It's a good time and is an impressive full-length debut.
APP's 1978 album is a fantastic prog rock experience By this point in their discography, we have got used to it. Amazing production, composition and instrumental sections.
A good if slightly uninspired collection of 2-minute dance-pop tracks. They do the job that they were composed to do but there's better already out there.
A bit of a disappointment after a decent run of singles so far. It lacks the interesting instrumentation that made tracks like "Shame" so good. It's fine, but that's about it.
The definition of mid. There’s nothing that massively stands out here. Decent production, very predictable songwriting with okay performances. There’s just not much to write home about.
A decent post-punk album with plenty of angst, fuzzy guitars and nice buildups. But it's the release that falls flat for me. Choruses for the most part just don't feel that unique. SPRINTS seem happy to chart already trodden territory and it just feels a bit uninspired sometimes. Still, some good building blocks to work from here
A pretty flooring glam/prog rock album. Varied in the right ways, produced amazingly and the musicianship is superb. This is one heavily overlooked album
Whilst I do think Acquiring The Taste isn't as good as Gentle Giant's debut released less than a year prior, it still shows the band pushing the boundaries of what was actually technically possible at the time. That and the quality of composition is very commendable
Good but simply not as unique as Nekro's previous releases.
