Overall, it’s a great album. I generally like the production and Cole’s lyrical performances, but it’s less energetic and sometimes feels like it doesn’t demand me to listen to it. Also, I’m indifferent to the crooning.
The production gets less engaging as it goes on, but it’s still a great effort.
Slick Rick’s voice is so odd, but you can’t deny that he’s a legend with the pen.
I really like this album. Easily one of the most influential albums of the decade. Great production and features. Usually engaging.
Timeless. Aside from a few tracks I'm indifferent to, this whole thing is peak.
Immaculate production. Black Thought is one of the best to ever touch a mic. Better than most of today’s rappers.
I’m normally less interested in 90s West Coast lyricism, but the subject manner and Ice Cube’s storytelling and delivery here make this a phenomenal listen. One of my favorite albums ever.
Some of the best beats I’ve ever heard. Royce holding his own with some of the best emcees around. I feel like Royce’s occasional weird lines add charm to the songs.
This is my favorite Kanye album. The ego and industrial production combined form art.
