What a great show of sounds from james blake. Here he fuses elements of R&B, electronic, ambient and it all works.
I consider Jpeg to be one of the best artists ever, living or dead. This album on first listen is so disappointing. Production wise, he hasn’t missed a beat. The songs all are hard and have good instrumentation. However, Peggy’s flows are straight insufferable for most of the albums and the beats drown out his repetitive, fast flow to the point where his voice is literally just noise. I mean it wouldn't be a Ye release without a fucked up and delayed release. The first 12 songs were really good and I was thinking this album would be good all the way through. The last 6 tracks though were so rough. Still has some AI on preacher man, last breath and this one here. Apparently there are supposed to be updates but man... those last tracks were garbage slop. For my money one of the greatest albums of all time. This is peak Ye being a creative who is able to achieve any sound he wants. I think this album has the most versatile and killer feature list of any rap album ever. Ye really understood who and how these features should have been used. Ye himself is also at peak performance on this album, still hungry and at the top of the world.
