Super well produced but ultimately a little boring for my taste? Very few songs on here I'll be coming back to :(

Various Artists - The Endless Coloured Ways: The Songs of Nick Drake
65

As with any compilation like this, there are some amazing highlights, a bunch of "whatever's", and a few disappointing tracks. As a huge Nick Drake fan, this was a pretty solid listen overall, but I don't see myself relistening to the whole thing ever again. I'm also devastated we never got a black metal cover of Things Behind the Sun...

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Let's Eat Grandma's version of From the Morning is honestly one of the better covers I've heard in recent memory. Absolutely ... read more

Joanna Sternberg - I’ve Got Me
75

The album equivalent of an old colourful quilt

Grian Chatten - Chaos For The Fly
76

somebody please give grian a hug

Lil Uzi Vert - Pink Tape
46

-the fuck is this

Geese - 3D Country
93

Such a good rock record! Also one of the best, most versatile new vocalists on the block

Cory Hanson - Western Cum
87

Wand has been one of the most under appreciated rock bands out there for years now and I’m of the opinion that Cory hasn’t missed yet - and this continues the streak! Also, the riff on Housefly is a 10

Sigur Rós - ÁTTA
72

I had no idea every word in Icelandic is oooOoOoOoOhuUuUhHhHhHh

TOOL - Ænima
80

It has taken me 24 years to get into TOOL knowing full well that I’d like them. And yeah! I like them!

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation
100

King Gizzard is far and away the most exciting and adventurous band out there today - everything they touch, even if it's not your cup of tea, is at least ambitious and interesting. Here, on PDA (not writing the whole title out are you kidding me), they somehow go even further out and craft one of the best metal albums of the past 5 years.

SOME NOTES:
- This is the biggest display of the band's talents since Polygondwanaland. I honestly don't think I could count the number of tempo, time ... read more

Squid - O Monolith
69

So unbelievably disconnected from this one... Undergrowth and The Blades are sick though

55

5 years after Dirty Computer, arguably one of the best genre fusions of the past decade, Monae follows this up with barely 30 minutes of eeehhhghhhh????

WITCH - Zango
70

It's fun while it's on, but admittedly I'm a little disappointed. Waile hit so fucking hard though, jeeeeezzz

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Dragon
99

shawtty got me like AUDI MEA VERBA/OH IGNIS DRACONIS/EX CINERIBUS ORIOR/ALTIUS ATQUE ALTIUS/ALIS PATENTIBUS/LUMINE MICANTE/DRACO HIC APPARERE DEBET/IN LOCO SUBTER

Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker
82

I just want old rhaspy Leonard to whisper “you’re a good boy” into my ear

Half Moon Run - Salt
70

Absolutely love Half Moon Run (as pretty much all Montrealers do), but this is the first time I've been kinda bored by one of their albums. The performances are incredible as usual, but the songwriting is pretty tedious and a lot of the fun risks they took on their last album are nowhere to be found. It's a fun folk rock album, but not much more unfortunately.

Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash
NR

My mom screamed "OH YEAH" when I put the record on. There are three masterpiece songs on here but the rest is somewhat forgettable. I wish to reincarnate into a 3-way harmony though....

Tinariwen - Amatssou
72

Starts off extremely strong, but gradually gets repetitive as it goes along. Still an excellent listen though!

Kesha - Gag Order
77

Used to make fun of Kesha when I was 13 and obsessed with boomer rock but now make fun of boomer rock and am obsessed with Kesha

Sparks - The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte
71

Look, this album is super cute and bizarre and clever and really unlike anything else coming out today. Check out that Sparks documentary if you haven't already, it's wonderful.
