Jacob Slater - Pinky, I Love You
85

Came across this out of the blue and instantly loved it. Cannot wait to hear what this guy does next

BIG|BRAVE - A Chaos of Flowers
73

I've been looking for music that gave me the same feeling as the last Low album and I FOUND IT!

Mannequin Pussy - Romantic
80

STOP YELLING AT ME <3

Mount Kimbie - The Sunset Violent
61

shit sound like you're walking around a festival at 2pm on the first day near one of the side stages and you hear vaguely indie music that your brain like 30% registers as neat

Khruangbin - A LA SALA
45

May Ninth is the best thing I've heard Khruangbin do. The rest is just so lame

Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
88

Isn't it just an amazing feeling when a highly anticipated album surpasses your expectations? This was really wonderful all around and such a great combination of their past sounds with a new approach. Also...CONNECT!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! I had no idea the boys were even capable of something this intricate and beautiful

Ride - Interplay
60

First track rips, the rest is solid cleaning-your-house music

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
83

It’s huge and VERY uneven, but the production, songwriting and vocals (obviously) are so top-notch that it’s definitely forgiven. The genre stuff is way too heavy handed though

Julia Holter - Something in the Room She Moves
76

Beautiful and fascinating! So much to chew on here

Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood
80

Not exactly my thing, but pretty solid songwriting and production overall

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future
93

I haven't instantly fallen in love with an album like this in a long, long time. There is nobody writing beautiful songs like Adrianne and we're so lucky to have her.

Beans - Boots N Cats
65

First album of 2024 I can easily describe as GROOOOOVYYYYY

Meatbodies - Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom
71

Needed an album like this this year!

Four Tet - Three
73

Imagine if Four Tet made a bad album!

Everything Everything - Mountainhead
70

I dream of a day when Everything Everything puts out a consistent album that isn’t nearly half filler songs

88

God that title track is one of the best songs I've heard in years

Hans Zimmer - Dune: Part Two
90

Having seen the movie (which, by the way, is astonishing), Zimmer's score is used perfectly throughout. The new themes and reinterpretations of pieces from the first Dune are really incredible, Zimmer is working in top form here. Also if you work with this soundtrack playing you'll be 10x more productive (I am speaking from personal experience here).

MGMT - Loss of Life
82

Definitely gonna be a grower, but it’s really great seeing MGMT transition from their off kilter slightly-intoxicated-sounding LDA to something that’s an outright joy. Also, the sound play on the closing track is among the best things they’ve ever done

Yeat - 2093
70

Pretty neat but man why does every trap album need to be 37 hours long now
