Caribou - Honey
77

WOW! For some reason, despite liking to loving pretty much all of Caribou's (and Daphni's) output, I wasn't anticipating this album much. This ended up being such a delight - a much lighter, more optimistic take on Caribou's signature sound, with some real earworms throughout. Just incredibly fun from beginning to end.

The Smile - Cutouts
81

The performances on this are absolutely nuts and there are many highlights, but I definitely find myself missing the tightness and hooks of Radiohead's records. I love that Thom and Johnny and the gang are exploring musically though!

Christian Lee Hutson - Paradise Pop. 10
65

Aw man, this one kinda hurts actually. I'm a massive fan of Hutson's debut album but have been consistently disappointed with his output since then, and this is no different.

William Basinski - September 23rd
60

God I want William Basinski to make something weird again

Alan Sparhawk - White Roses, My God
50

Aw man :( as a big fan of Low and somebody who was impacted by Mimi Parker’s passing, I really wish this connected with me. Hard not to feel like it sounds like somebody just fucking around on Garageband

Being Dead - EELS
85

This was so weird ♡✧˚ ༘ ⋆。♡˚

SPRINTS - Letter To Self
77

Such a promising debut!

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
85

really wish i hadn't played the fuck me interlude out loud at work

Rush - Moving Pictures
84

uh oh bad news guys I like Rush

Blu & Exile - Love (the) Ominous World
70

Pretty disappointing ngl... Miles is one of my favourite rap albums of the 2020's so far and I was so excited to hear Blu & Exile team up again, but to be honest very little of this is particularly memorable. The production is great but not as versatile or interesting as on Miles, and Blu doesn't do anything fresh. All that said, it's still solid and worth a listen

Jamie xx - In Waves
85

One of my most anticipated albums of my life and it did NOT disappoint! Part of me wishes some of the singles were saved for the album drop, since there weren't too many surprises here, but nobody is doing it like Jamie XX right now. Just so full of energy and creativity

Floating Points - Cascade
82

Never been a huge Floating Points fan but these singles got me REALLY interested in what he was going to do here - and man, what a fantastic, kinetic experience! Just unbelievably fun, intricate and satisfying.

Fat Dog - WOOF.
85

I AM RUNNING AROUND THE ROOM PUNCHING HOLES THROUGH WALLS AND SHITTING ON THE FLOOR AND SCREAMING UNCONTROLLABLY

Spoon - They Want My Soul
90

Just absolutley rips from the first second to the last

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God
79

Nick Cave once again releases a beautiful, melancholic, immaculately produced album that I will never listen to again

Jon Hopkins - RITUAL
80

welp seems like every few years jon hopkins puts out another album that makes me believe in god

Wunderhorse - Midas
72

All around super solid rock record with a few stand out moments! I feel like this band has a great album in them!

Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet
68

Who is Sabrina Carpenter? No seriously… every song here sounds like a different currently popular female pop artist (Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Kacey Musgraves, etc etc). Some of the songs are catchy but it sounds like a mall in 2018

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
100

Literally me trying to put the Norbit DVD into my head as a 5 year old to see if it would play the movie

Fontaines D.C. - Romance
76

FONTAINES DC MAKES ANOTHER 8/10 ALBUM WITH LIKE 2-3 MASTERPIECE SONGS ON IT AND ALSO SOME FILLER WHO KNEW
