Cissné - Awake children under the moon
91

One of my fav newer bands, insane vocals and some of the best screamo I've ever heard

Tiffany Day - HALO
92

The singles rollout got me very excited for this album, and needless to say it has fulfilled my expectations! It's packed with catchy songs and brilliant production from start to finish, and I would also like to highlight the glitchy production which has been executed perfectly throughout the album!

JUNGWOO - 여섯 번째 토요일 (Sixth Saturday)
79

Jungwoo's debut album is a very soothing listen, much lighter production-wise compared to her second album 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'. This album orients towards folk and sounds as gorgeous as its indie rock follow-up.

loopcinema - LOOP:GLAMOUR
84

Such a fun listen, stellar production and very creative!

Febuary - Run Like a Girl
78

The title track is unbelievably crushing, wow

Scowl - Are We All Angels
84

It feels like they took all the best parts of the 'old' Scowl sound, improved them and expanded on them with new sounds and ideas, so good!

石橋英子 [Eiko Ishibashi] - Antigone
88

Wow stunning album. This was my introduction to Eiko's work and I'm very intrigued about the rest of her catalogue.

Soft Blue Shimmer - They Will Leave Us With Nothing
81

Soft Blue Shimmer return with their dreamiest project yet. While some songs from Heaven Inches Away remain untouched like 'Adore the Distance' or 'Cherry-Cola Abyss', this LP feels like their most conistent, with my personal standouts being 'supermetal dream' and 'Bodyknot'.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

NEW 10!
Enough time has passed, and I couldn't be more certain in giving an album a perfect score. But where do I even begin the review of this album? It's one of those that is hard to describe, without repeating what everyone else has already said about it. And I know I'll never be able to write a review which perfectly describes how this album makes me feel or what I like about it, however I feel like I have to try, so I guess let's start from the beginning...

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium

It's been a while since an album fully clicked for me like this one. "Inertiatic ESP" has been in my playlists a lot in recent weeks and I finally decided to check out the full LP. It has everything I could want from a prog rock album, it's consistent from start to finish, great storytelling, perfect instrumentals. It's dark, experimental, anxious, fun and along with it all it's cohesive. "Inertiatic ESP" remains my favourite song on the album for now but ... read more

Msliterate - beautiful apocalypse
73

Damn the vocals... The sound is interesting, dark at times. Also the artist claims to be inspired by Evanescence and Paramore which can definitely be noticed in some places. I'm excited for what's to come!

The Marías - Submarine
86

Obsessed with the basslines throughout the album. Very pretty!

aespa - Armageddon
70

Has some great highs, especially Supernova and Licorice, but most of the album is just ok. First half is much stronger.

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
94

Their heaviest material yet while also the most coherent. 27 minutes of pure chaos that doesn't let you rest. I found the Chris Motionless feature okay but felt like it didn't add that much, however the Poppy feature is incredible!
Favourites: Thirst, Suffocate, Blinding Faith

Gouge Away - Deep Sage
91

Really consistent, angry and engaging! Highly recommend giving it a shot.

Mỹ Anh - Em
81

It keeps growing on me

The Neverminds - nevermind, the winter.
83

One of my fav shoegaze projects released in recent years, super beautiful

Massa Nera - Quatro Vientos // Cinco Soles

Rating #1000

So I've been overthinking (as per usual) what release to rate as my 1000th, and it took me a while to decide. I wanted to do an album that is special to me as most users here do for their milestones, however I've rated all of them already. Because of that I decided to take a different approach - I tried to find interesting releases from this week from less known artists & choose my favourite one as a rating #1000.

The LP that took the crown is a split release "Quatro ... read more

Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS
86

GUTS takes a step up from SOUR in terms of songwriting and Olivia's performances, and while her newest album is a bit more consistent, I feel like SOUR has higher highs. GUTS has moments full of energy, rich instrumentals and powerful teenage pop rock anthems, but also features Olivia's beautiful vocal performances and ballads. I find the second half of the album weaker, however, it ends with two of the best tracks.
Highlights: "bad idea right?", "vampire", "ballad of a ... read more

Temple Of Angels - Endless Pursuit
76

A strong debut LP dream pop release - well polished with beautiful dreamlike guitars. Highlights: Endless Pursuit, Torment, Secret Places.

"@RomanVint great picks! both 10/10 for me, also 'Fuwarin' from her debut album and many more! but track #6 feels truly special to me, even though you say it feels clumsy, i absolutely adore the structure and flow of the song, and ofc her vocals as in any other song."

On Spamman's review of Azra - Azra
"It feels unusual to see someone listen to such a throwback album from my country haha. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think Azra's album 'Sunčana Strana Ulice' might be their best work so I recommend checking it out if you want. It can be a bit hard to find, so I can help you with that if needed. (also sidenote - I wouldn't really call Croatia balkan, a better term would be ex-yugoslavia, or short ex-yu)"
