Had to raise my 87 to a 92. This album is genuinely astounding, with an intoxicatingly raw sound that makes it stand out amongst the rest of MCR’s discography.
While other records of theirs are perhaps stronger conceptually or technically, there is a mesmerizing energy of desperation and intensity here. Simply put, nothing hits quite like this. I could never get sick of it.

I liked this record quite a lot! As the only other review on here mentions, the Vespertine influence is very clear, but Simon does not simply imitate; she makes it completely her own. It’s ambitious, impressive and thoroughly engaging. There are times when the vocals are eerie and discordant, making for gorgeous, haunting moments, which she balances out very nicely with some of the faster paced tracks. It’s eccentric, intentional, and all around rewarding to listen to.
Superscar’s been stuck in my head for a while, and since I’ve heard people predict that ADÉLA’s gonna be big soon, I decided I might as well check this out. I’d say the songs here range from decent to great, but for me what really stood out was her undeniable star power. I’ll be sure to keep up with her, and I won’t be surprised if she blows up like people are saying.
